El efecto de urea (U) protegida con un polímero (UP) en variables microbiológicas y fermentativas se evaluó con raciones totalmente mezclada (RTM) para vacas lecheras, en tres experimentos. En el primero, mediante una fermentación in vitro de heno de alfalfa (HA), paja de avena (PA), ensilado de maíz (EM), rastrojo de maíz (RM) y sus FDN, se determinó cinética de liberación de U, concentración de N-NH3, desaparición de MS (DIVMS), volumen máximo (Vm) y tasa de producción de gas (R), y bacterias celulolíticas (BC). El diseño experimental fue completamente al azar y los datos se analizaron con REPEATED MEASURE y PROC MIXED. De 0 a 12 h la UP liberó paulatinamente la urea y disminuyó su hidrólisis a N-NH3 (P≤0.01); y aumentó Vm, R, DIVMS del RM y del EM... |

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the manner in which diet is supplied and spineless cactus forage is processed on intake, nutrient digestibility, milk production and composition, concentration of plasma urea nitrogen (PUN) in the milk urea nitrogen (MUN) and production of microbial protein in Holstein cows in lactation. Eight cows (453 ± 75.8 kg) yielding 14 kg milk/day were allotted to a factorial design, with two manners of cactus processing (knife-chopped or forage machine) and two diet supplies (separate concentrate or total mixed ration). This study aimed to determine the effects of total mixed ration (TMR) containing oil palm frond silage (OPFS) as a source of roughage mixed with fibrolytic enzyme on feed intake, growth performance and carcass characteristics of goats. Sixteen male Bore x Thai native goats, 10-12 months old with average live weight 13.37±1.40 kg, were used in this study. Goats were allotted according to completely randomized design to receive TMR diet containing OPFS (roughage) to concentrate ratio at 60:40 (on a DM basis) and mixed with fibrolytic enzyme at 0 (control) (T1), 2 (T2), 4 (T3) and 6 (T4) g/kg DM of TMR.
