Metrics for describing dyadic movement: a review ArchiMer

In movement ecology, the few works that have taken collective behaviour into account are data-driven and rely on simplistic theoretical assumptions, relying in metrics that may or may not be measuring what is intended. In the present paper, we focus on pairwise joint-movement behaviour, where individuals move together during at least a segment of their path. We investigate the adequacy of twelve metrics introduced in previous works for assessing joint movement by analysing their theoretical properties and confronting them with contrasting case scenarios. Simulation des trajectoires de matière organique dans le Pertuis Breton. Couplage de l'hydrodynamisme et d'un modèle écophysiologique de M. edulis ArchiMer

The "Pertuis Breton" is a macrotidal estuary with an important mollusc exploitation of the inter-tidal zones. The main cultivated specie is M.edulis. In 1991, 250 long lines have been immersed in the centre of the bay. It will be able to extend the concession on the basis of the studies results about the trophy capacity of the "Pertuis Breton". Two deterministic models have been developed for to determining the geographical origin of the matter organic sources for the long line mussels culture, and the destine of this matter in the culture park: a) a model of trajectories of the organic matter particles, b) a coupled model of the hydrodynamic conditions and a ecophysiological model of the mussel growth.
