| ABSTRACT: During the winter seasons of 1997 and 1998, experiments were conducted under irrigation in the experimental area of Embrapa Cerrados Research Center at Planaltina, Federal District and in the experimental area of the Piratininga Region Agricultural Cooperative (Coopertinga), Northwest of Minas Gerais State. The objective was to identify cultivars that present the following characteristics; resistance to diseases, early maturity, high yeld, resistance to lodging, desirable plant height and good market acceptance, to be indicated for cultivation in the Federal District and the Northewest of Minas Gerais State. | ABSTRACT: During the years 2003 and 2004, four experiments were conducted in the winter season, under irrigation and in the raining season in the experimental area of the Embrapa Cerrados Research Center at Planaltina, Federal District. The objective was to identify cultivars that presented the following characteristics: resistance to diseases, high yield, resistance to lodging, desirable plant height and good market acceptance, to be indicated for cultivation in the Federal District. It was concluded that the cultivar BRS Cometa is indicated for this region, due to its high yield characteristics, resistance to diseases and lodging, excellent cooking qualities and erect type. |

| ABSTRACT: In a joint research program the Cerrados Agricultural Research Center, Planaltina, DF; the Wheat National Research Center, Passo Fundo, RS; the State of Minas Gerais Agricultural Research Corporation, Uberaba, MG; the State of Goiás Agricultural Research, Goiânia, GO, and the Agricultural Cooperative for Development of the High Paranaíba River Region released a new cultivar Embrapa 22 indicated for areas with splinkler irrigation in the States of Goiás and Minas Gerais, and Federal Distric. Recently this cultivar was recomended for Bahia and Mato Grosso States.
