Investigating a Power tiller Handle and Seat Vibration on Transportation mode CIGR Journal
Ahmadian, Hossein; Hassan-Beygi, Seyed Reza; Ghobadian, Barat.
In this paper, vibration a power tiller vibration was investigated at handle position as well as seat position of a trailer pulled by the power tiller. The experiments were conducted at five levels of engine speed, four levels of transmission gear ratio during transportation, and in three directions. Then the weighted 1/3rd octave spectrum was calculated from the narrow band vibration acceleration signals. The amount of vibration damage on operator's body and allowable exposure limits were calculated based on ISO standards. The results showed that the vibration increased with increasing the engine speed for all the gear ratios and directions. The magnitude of vibration was the greatest at vertical direction in all the experiments. The vibration allowable...

Operators’ exposure to noise and vibration in the grass cut tasks: comparison between private and public yards CIGR Journal
Calvo, Angela; Deboli, Roberto; Preti, Christian.
During the green maintenance, the grass cut tasks require the operators to use machines (especially lawn tractors, mowers, blowers and brush cutters) which transmit them high levels of noise and vibration. The requests of the Directive 2003/10/EC for the operators’ noise exposure are difficult to be applied in seasonal variable activities, as grass cut tasks are. The same problem exists in case of the workers’ exposure to vibration sources. Aim of this work was to compare the noise and vibration operators exposure of a public yard with a private one in the grass cut tasks. Data were collected using the requested standards considering all the noisy and vibrating sources of the operators. Moreover, the different work organisation in the two yards was...

Polyphenoloxidase activity in peaches after vibration REA
Dantas,Tiago B. H.; Ferraz,Antônio C. de O.; Honório,Sylvio L.; Lima,Giuseppina P. P..
The vibration during transportation is one of the main causes of fruit damage. The actual methodologies used for damage evaluation in fruits seem to be subjective, since most of them are based on visual evaluation. In this study the effect of vibration, for one and two hours, on polyphenoloxidase (PPO) activity in peach pulp was investigated. The relation among PPO activity variation, postharvest time and resting time were also considered. Results showed that vibration affects PPO activity. However, it was not possible to correlate PPO activity variation and vibration.

Dégradation de matériaux composites dans un environment marin: Nouveaux materiaux et methodes d'essais ArchiMer
Pomies, F; Carlsson, L; Choqueuse, Dominique; Davies, Peter.
The change in composite material properties when these are exposed to a marine environment is of considerable importance to both designers and users of these materials. In this paper new materials are first studied, composites composed of a glass fibre reinforced thermoplastic PPS matrix. It is shown that their poor interfacial resistance to moisture ingress compromises severely the advantage of using a matrix which does not absorb moisture. In the second part of the paper the application of two non-destructive test techniques for following damage development, based on ultrasonic wave propagation and vibration (modal) analysis, are described. These are complemented by first results from a study using fracture mechanics tests to characterise delamination...

Vertical and horizontal oscillation of three models of self-propelled boom sprayers AGRIAMBI
Reynaldo,Étore F.; Machado,Thiago M.; Taubinger,Leandro; Quadros,Dionathan de.
ABSTRACT The spray boom is one of the sprayer components that most affect the application quality and may cause phytotoxicity and overlay application problems. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the displacement in the vertical and horizontal movements of the spray booms in three models of self-propelled boom sprayers. The vibrations of the spray boom in the vertical direction was measured using three receivers (GNSS) with RTK differential correction. The vibration measurements in the horizontal direction were determined using a high resolution camera. At the end, the processed data were entered into a spreadsheet for the descriptive statistics. The smallest spray boom movement in the horizontal direction was obtained by the specimen 2. No statistical...

Structural static and modal frequency simulations in a coffee harvester’s chassis AGRIAMBI
Silva,Evandro P. da; Silva,Fábio M. da; Andrade,Ednilton T. de; Magalhães,Ricardo R..
ABSTRACT Coffee harvesters are subject to stresses and vibrations in their structure, originating from engines and harvesting system. These structures must be designed to avoid rupturing of the components due to fragility of the materials, inadequate geometries, or the phenomenon of resonance, which increases the displacements/deformations of the components. In this scenario, the main objective of this study is to analyse the results of stresses and displacements from two static simulations and to present results of natural vibration frequencies from two modal simulations in a self-propelled coffee harvester. For this purpose, 20 modal shapes were generated, considering coffee harvester reservoir as empty and full. The simulations were carried out using...
