Evolution divergente de cultures phytoplanctoniques marines en relation avec la qualité des enrichissements ArchiMer
Divanach, P.; Sube, J..
Four marine phytoplanctonic cultures from natural inoculum of Nannodito sp. have been submitted to different fertilizers in identical light and temperature conditions. The composition of enrichments has been studied to introduce Nitrogen as comparative factor. One tank without nutrients and three enriched cultures, the first only with sodium nitrate, the second with "Conway medium" and the last in which nutrients were provided by convenient dilution of "foam", have been followed for physical, chemical, biological parameters during three months. Temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, optical density, particulate matters, Organic Carbon, Nitrogen, Phos phorus, Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, metal traces and biological parameters were analysed...

Recyclage de déchets d'aquaculture marine - Caractéristique d'un effluent de pisciculture : l'écume ArchiMer
Divanach, P.; Sube, J..
Previously to its use as culturing medium for algae, we have studied the various characteristics of the sewage extracted from marine fish rearing ponds, through a purificating system called "foamer". Qualitatively, this sewage differs from the sea water which produced it on various points : It is richer than the water in Organic Carbon, Organic Nitrogen, Ammonia, particulate matters, phosphorus and varied metals. However the concentration factors are not constant and they change in time. This sewage is toxic for some group of animals and this toxicity varies with the concentration but also the age of the product. Finally, it is eutrophicant and this richness enables to the growth of algae for long periods but the boundary between toxicity and eutrophy Is...

Neste...

Use of sweet ‘Pêra’ peel as an adsorbent in the treatment of textile effluents AGRIAMBI
Nascimento,Ketyla K. R. do; Vieira,Fernando F.; Almeida,Marcello M. de; Buriti,Josué da S.; Barros,Aldre J. M.; Oliveira,Rodrigo J. de.
ABSTRACT The disposal of industrial wastewater into aquatic bodies without proper treatment can cause severe damage to the environment and human health. The objective of this study was to perform the drying of the sweet orange (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) peel cultivar Pêra and evaluate the viability of its use as biosorbent in the removal of a direct dye. Drying was carried out in an oven with air circulation at temperatures of 60 and 80 ºC. The mathematical models of Page, Henderson and Pabis, Logarithmic, Midilli and Two-term exponential were fitted to the moisture data as a function of time. The material was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, point of zero charge, and infrared spectroscopy. In the adsorption study, a complete 24 factorial...

Physical performance of particleboards using Castor oil-based adhesive AGRIAMBI
Varanda,Luciano D.; Yamaji,Fábio M.; Santos,Luís R. O.; Silva,Diogo A. L.; Christoforo,André L.; Lahr,Francisco A. R..
ABSTRACT Reconstituted wood panels are widely used in various branches of the wood industry, such as in the furniture sectors and various segments of urban and rural construction. In Brazil, agricultural and forestry residues are abundantly generated, making feasible the study, development and application of alternative and sustainable materials, produced from the use of these wastes. The aim of this study was to produce high-density homogenous panels with wood residues of Pinus elliottii and oat hulls (Avena sativa), pressed with two types of adhesive, castor oil-based polyurethane and melamine formaldehyde, and to evaluate the physical performance of these panels. The physical performance of the panels was evaluated based on the ABNT NBR 14810: 2006,...

A new enzymatic process for the treatment of phenolic pollutants BABT
Palma,Mauri Sergio Alves; Horn,Harald; Zilli,Mario; Pigatto,Gisele; Converti,Attilio.
This work aimed to develop a new economic enzymatic process to treat the phenolic pollutants using pure tyrosinase in stirred vessel and adopting temperature (T), pH, rotational speed (N), initial phenol (C P,o) and enzyme (C T) concentrations as independent variables. Experimental data of the residual phenol concentration (C P) were used to calculate the oxidation efficiency (η), initial oxidation rate (-r o) and time required to reach the end of reaction (t) that were selected as the responses. Under the optimal conditions (T = 45°C, pH 6.6, N = 400 rpm, C P,o = 100 ppm and C T = 50 U/mL), η was 88.1%, -r o = 10.2 mg L-1 min-1, t = 40 min. These results suggested that tyrosinase-rich crude extracts from vegetable byproducts could be quite promising.

Oxidative stability of refrigerated fish pates containing loquat seed extract Ciência Rural
Piccolo,Jaqueline; Daniel,Ana Paula; Klein,Bruna; Ferreira,Lauren Fresinghelli; Ruviaro,Amanda Roggia; Emanuelli,Tatiana; Kubota,Ernesto Hashime.
This study investigated the effects of hydroethanolic E. japonica seed extracts (EJSE) as inhibitors of lipid and protein oxidation on fish pates subjected to refrigerated storage. Five fish pate formulations were developed. These formulations included two control pates (water-control and ascorbic acid-control) and three pates with added EJSE (0.1, 0.2 and 0.4g of seed 100g-1 product, equivalent to 3.4, 6.8 or 13.6mg phenolic compounds kg-1 product), which were then stored under refrigeration for 35 days. Conjugated dienes (CD) and peroxide (PV) values increased along with the storage time; however, these values decreased and were similar among all samples at the end of 35 days of analysis (P<0.05). However, the thiobarbituric acid reactive substances...
