Runoff measurement and prediction for a watershed under natural vegetation in central Brazil Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Silva,C. L.; Oliveira,C. A. S..
This work aimed to measure and analyze total rainfall (P), rainfall intensity and five-day antecedent rainfall effects on runoff (R); to compare measured and simulated R values using the Soil Conservation Service Curve Number method (CN) for each rainfall event; and to establish average R/P ratios for observed R values. A one-year (07/01/96 to 06/30/97) rainfall-runoff data study was carried out in the Capetinga watershed (962.4 ha), located at the Federal District of Brazil, 47° 52' longitude West and 15° 52' latitude South. Soils of the watershed were predominantly covered by natural vegetation. Total rainfall and runoff for the period were 1,744 and 52.5 mm, respectively, providing R/P of 3% and suggesting that watershed physical characteristics favored...

Soil water dynamics related to the degree of compaction of two brazilian oxisols under no-tillage Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Silva,Vanderlei Rodrigues da; Reichert,José Miguel; Reinert,Dalvan José; Bortoluzzi,Edson Campanhola.
Soil water properties are related to crop growth and environmental aspects and are influenced by the degree of soil compaction. The objective of this study was to determine the water infiltration and hydraulic conductivity of saturated soil under field conditions in terms of the compaction degree of two Oxisols under a no-tillage (NT). Two commercial fields were studied in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil: one a Haplortox after 14 years under NT; the other a Hapludox after seven years under NT. Maps (50 x 30 m) of the levels of mechanical penetration resistance (PR) were drawn based on the kriging method, differentiating three compaction degrees (CD): high, intermediate and low. In each CD area, the infiltration rate (initial and steady-state) and...

A software to calculate soil hydraulic conductivity in internal drainage experiments (SHC, Version 2.00) Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Dourado Neto,Durval; Reichardt,Klaus; Silva,Adriana Lúcia da; Bacchi,Osny Oliveira Santos; Timm,Luis Carlos; Oliveira,Júlio César Martins; Nielsen,Donald R..
A software for the calculation of unsaturated soil hydraulic conductivity K(theta) is presented for commonly used methods found in the literature, based on field experiments in which a soil profile is submitted to water infiltration followed by internal drainage. The software is available at: dourado@esalq.usp.br.
Tipo: Info:eu-repo/semantics/article Palavras-chave: Internal drainage; Soil water content; Water infiltration.
