| The skin, the largest and most external organ of the human body, acts as the first line of protection against traumata. Therefore, skin wounds and injuries can expose the organism to many severe diseases. Some wounds show chronic aspects, usually taking a long time to heal and, therefore, being more susceptible to infections. Thus, for the sake of health, effective strategies to protect and coat the affected skin are highly demanded nowadays. In this context, applying wound dressings based on electrospun nanofibers at the local injury site can speed up the healing process by protecting the wound from external harm and enhancing tissue recovery, fluid draining, and moisture regulation. | This publication aims to summarize some of the most important contributions that Embrapa has given to society on these issues. In Chapter 1, context is briefly presented, followed by problem identification in Chapter 2. Contributions to SDG 13 targets were organized in the following three chapters: Chapter 3 regarding Brazilian agriculture resilience and adaptability to risks posed by climate change; Chapter 4 discusses integrated actions to fight climate change within national plans by means of public policies. | O presente livro apresenta desde uma contextualização histórica até a aplicação dos princípios agroecológicos às distintas realidades locais e regionais, retratando a contribuição da Embrapa Meio Ambiente no tema, dentro da diversidade de atuação da Unidade, em prol da sustentabilidade da agropecuária brasileira. Os relatos e reflexões aqui enunciados dão conta de novas formas de abordagem conceitual e metodológica para a pesquisa-ação participativa. Para tanto, os exemplos convergem no sentido de mostrar as conexões entre o conhecimento ancestral, resgatado e reconstruído, e a pesquisa clássica, com nova abordagem por meio do enfoque transdisciplinar. |
