COLOMBO, R. C.; ROBERTO, S. R.; NIXDORF, S. L.; PÉREZ-NAVARRO, J.; GÓMEZ-ALONSO, S.; MENA-MORALES, A.; GARCIA-ROMERO, E.; GONÇALVES, L. S. A.; CRUZ, M. A. da; CARVALHO, D. U. de; MADEIRA, T. B.; WATANABE, L. S.; SOUZA, R. T. de; GUTIÉRREZ-HERMOSÍN, I..
Grapes are considered to be a major source of phenolic compounds as compared with other fruits. To improve the quality of table grapes, some techniques like thinning can be used. In addition, grape cultivars with distinct characteristics are directly linked to its phenolic profile. This study aimed to identify and quantify the phenolic compound profile and yieldof the hybrid ?BRS Vitoria? seedless table grape under different bunchdensities, using a combination of solid-phase extraction (SPE) methodologies and analytical high-performance liquidchromatography-diode array detector with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC?DAD?ESI-MS/MS).

Anthocyanin accumulation and color development of 'Benitaka' table grape subjected to exogenous abscisic acid application at different timings of ripening. Repositório Alice
SHAHAB, M.; ROBERTO, S. R.; AHMED, S.; COLOMBO, R. C.; SILVESTRE, J. P.; KOYAMA, R.; SOUZA, R. T. de.
In colored table grapes, the anthocyanin contents are inhibited by the high temperature during ripening and berries suffer a lack of skin color, thus affecting their market value. In order to overcome this issue, a research study was planned to evaluate the influence of (S)-cis-abscisic acid (S-ABA) on rates of anthocyanin accumulation in table grapes when applied at different timings of ripening, and to quantify the gradual increase of berry color. The study was conducted in a commercial vineyard of ?Benitaka? table grapes (Vitis vinifera L.), grown under double annual cropping system in a subtropical area. The trials were carried out during two consecutive seasons (i.e., summer season of 2015 and off-season of 2016). The treatments used for the...

ROBERTO, S. R.; BORGES, W. F. S.; COLOMBO, R. C.; KOYAMA, R.; HUSSAIN, I.; SOUZA, R. T. de.
The objective of this study was to evaluate techniques, such as flower-cluster and berry-cluster thinning at different times, to prevent bunch compactness of ?BRS Vitoria?, a new black seedless grape. The experiment was conducted during two consecutive seasons (2013 and 2014) in a commercial vineyard located in Marialva, PR, Brazil. The grapevines were trained in an overhead trellis system, spaced at 2.5 × 5.0 m. The experimental design used was randomized blocks with four replications and six treatments: control (no thinning); flower-cluster thinning or brushing prior to anthesis; and berry-cluster thinning at different times, when berries were 3?6, 7?10, 11?15, or 16?18 mm in diameter. The bunch compactness incidence was evaluated according to the...

Cold Storage and Biocontrol Agents to Extend the Storage Period of ?BRS Isis? Seedless Table Grapes. Repositório Alice
COLOMBO, R. C.; CARVALHO, D. U.; CRUZ, M. A. da; SUMIDA, C. H.; AHMED, S.; BASSOLI, P. A.; SOUZA, R. T. de; ROBERTO, S. R..
"BRS Isis" is a novel hybrid seedless table grape with large reddish bunches. This cultivar is cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas and has potential to be exported overseas; however, under these growth conditions, grapes can be severely damaged by gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), the main postharvest disease of table grapes. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate different pre- and postharvest strategies to extend the storage period of ?BRS Isis? seedless table grapes. The treatments consisted of grapes packed into carton boxes under cold storage (1 ◦C and high relative humidity), pre- and/or postharvest treatment with potassium bicarbonate or a biological control agent (Bacillus subtilis), all with Botrytis inoculation. Additionally, two...

Abstract . ?BRS Isis? is a new colored seedless table grape tolerant to downy mildew, the main vine disease in subtropical humid areas. This new seedless cultivar is an interspecific hybrid from the crossing of CNPUV 681?29 [Arkansas 1976 X CNPUV 147?3 (?Niagara Branca? x ?Venus?)] x ?BRS Linda?, and was recently released by Embrapa Grape and Wine, Brazil. The performance of ?BRS Isis? seedless grape was evaluated in an experimental vineyard in 2016 located in a subtropical area at Marialva city, state of Parana, Brazil. The vines were grafted onto ?IAC 766 Campinas? rootstock and trained in an overhead trellising system spaced at 2 × 5 m. Vines were cane-pruning in late winter of July 2016, and for assessments, 20 representative vines were selected in the...

The objective of this work was to evaluate cold storage periods and postharvest longevity of the seedless table grape 'BRS Vitória' subjected to the application of the disease-resistance inducer acibenzolar- S-methyl (ASM). Bunches were treated or not with 1% ASM, placed individually in plastic clamshell trays and stored in a cold chamber at 2±1ºC, at a high relative humidity, for three periods (30, 45, and 60 days), followed by a 5-day period of shelf life in plastic clamshells, at 22±2ºC. After each storage period, gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) incidence was evaluated, and the physicochemical analysis was performed. A completely randomized design, with four replicates, was used in two 2x3 factorial arrangements: one evaluating ASM application and cold...
