Appreciation simple de la maturite des composts urbains en relation avec leurs effets sur la production vegetale Inra

Des composts prélevés dans différentes usines après divers temps de maturation ont été éprouvés sur végétaux (laitue, ray-grass). Par rapport à la quantité de matière sèche produite par le ray-grass sur le sol seul, on observe un effet dépressif marqué lorsque le sol est additionné de composts jeunes, puis cet effet s’atténue et devient même positif après plusieurs mois de maturation. Des observations identiques ont été effectuées sur laitue avec les produits d’une même usine : la production de matière sèche et la quantité d ’azote exportée augmentent avec le temps de maturation. Compared effects of long-term pig slurry applications and mineral fertilization on soil denitrification and its end products (N2O, N2) Inra

The long-term (9 years) effect of pig slurry applications vs mineral fertilization on denitrifying activity, N2O production and soil organic carbon (C) (extractable C, microbial biomass C and total organic C) was compared at three soil depths of adjacent plots. The denitrifying activities were measured on undisturbed soil cores and on sieved soil samples with acetylene method to estimate denitrification rates under field or potential conditions. Pig slurry applications had a moderate impact on the C pools. Total organic C was increased by +6.5% and microbial biomass C by ≥25%. Comparison of three sequential extraction procedures used to study trace metal distribution in an acidic sandy soil Inra

On an acid sandy soil contaminated with tracemetals (Fe, Mn, Cu, Pb and Zn), three sequential extractionprocedures were compared to determine the efficiencyof the reagents used and the effects of the step orderon the fractionation of metal species. In all cases, amagnesium nitrate solution (MgNIT) was previously usedto extract exchangeable forms. Impact of agricultural pratices on the size and activity of the microbial biomasse in a long-term field experiment Inra

The Dehérain long-term field experiment was initiated in 1875 to study the impact of fertilization on a wheat-sugarbeet rotation. In 1987, the rotation was stopped to be replaced by continuous maize. Crop residues were soil-incorporated and the mineral fertilization was doubled in some plots. The impact of those changes on the microbial biomass and activity are presented. In spring 1987, the soil was still in a steady-state condition corresponding to the rotation. The microbial biomass was correlated with total organic C and decreased in the order farmyard manure>mineral NPK>unfertilized control. Labile pools of organic matter: are they good indicators for in situ soil N minéralisation? Inra

The ability of various potentiel indicators to predict soil N mineralisation in field conditions was tested on 53 unfertilised arable crop fields distributed all over France. In situ N mineralisation wasdetermined with a calculation model using frequent measurements of soil mineral N and water content. On the ploughed layer (0-30 depth), soil organic C (SOC) and N (SON), microbial biomass C, light (>50 um) and heavy (<5O um) organic matter fractions and labile organic carbon or nitrogen(LOC or LON), obtained by autoclaving or tetraborate extraction, were measured. LON extracted by autoclaving showed the best correlatio with in situ N mineralisation (R2 = 0.47), followed by LOC extracted by autoclaving(r2 = 0.46), SON (R2 = 0.43) and SOC (R2 = 0.35)....

Un essai viticole de moyenne durée a été mis en place en Bourgogne en 2005 afin de comparer trois modes de production: viticulture de référence, viticulture biologique, viticulture « Ecophyto 2018 » (avec réduction d'intrants). Pour chaque mode de production, les principaux paramètres agronomiques quantitatifs et qualitatifs sur la plante et le sol sont déterminés. Les aspects environnementaux sont appréhendés à travers la biocénose du sol et des critères définis dans le cadre du Grenelle de l'Environnement (nombre de passages, quantités de substances actives, IFT).
