1.Evaluation of our ability to predict cross-pollination rates (CPR) at long distance using dispersal functions estimated in experimental set-ups differing by either their scale or their environmental conditions is crucial to establish appropriate management rules following the release of genetically modified (GM) crops.2.From 1998 to 2004 we measured oilseed rape CPR in commercial fields for 44 donor-recipientcouples separated by 220 up to 2000 m, from up to three different pollen donor cultivars in two French oilseed rape production areas. We analyzed antigen-binding residues from the variable domains of anti-CD4 antibody 13B8.2 using the Spot method of parallel peptide synthesis. Sixteen amino acids, defined as Spot critical residues (SCR), were identified on the basis of a 50% decrease in CD4 binding to alanine analogs of reactive peptides. Recombinant Fab 13B8.2 mutants were constructed with alanine residues in place of each of the 16 SCR, expressed in the baculovirus cell system, and purified. CD measurements indicated that the mutated proteins were conformationally intact, with a β-sheet secondary structure similar to that of wild-type Fab. Radiative properties of desert aerosols by optical ground-based measurements at solar wavelengths IRD

Les caractéristiques radiatives des poussières atmosphériques ont été mesurées d'avril à mai 1986 à la station de Mbour (16,9°W; 14,3°N) située à 80 km au sud de Dakar (Sénégal). Couplée avec des mesures satellitaires cette étude présente les premières conclusions des observatoires au sol pendant 15 journées consécutives. L'épaisseur optique varie fortement d'un évènement à l'autre (0,4-2 dans la bande spectrale de 450 mm). Les propriétés radiatives des aérosols sont en accord avec les modèles proposés notamment par SHETTLE's (1984) sur l'impact des brumes sèches sur le bilan énergétique de la planète (Résumé d'auteur)
