Les Brachyoures Majidae de profondeur recueillis au cours des campagnes MUSORSTOM 1 et 2 aux Philippines, enrichis de diverses autres récoltes indo-pacifiques, sont étudiés ici, à savoir les genres PLATYMAIA, CYRTOMAIA, PLEISTACANTHA, SPHENOCARCINUS et NAXIOIDES. Une clef est proposée pour les genres PLATYMAIA et SPHENOCARCINUS. Quatre espèces nouvelles sont décrites : PLATYMAIA REBIERI, des Nouvelles-Hébrides ; SPHEENOCARCINUS STUCKIAE et S. Découverte d'une nouvelle espèce de Sphenocarcinus en Nouvelle-Calédonie, S. mammatus sp. nov. (Crustacea, Decapoda, Brachyura) IRD

Le genre #Sphenocarcinus$ A.Milne Edwards, connu par 16 espèces indo-pacifiques à rostre soit impair (4 espèces) soit pair (12 espèces), s'enrichit d'une espèce nouvelle à rostre double, recueillie par le "Vauban" entre 300-460 m au nord de la Nouvelle-Calédonie, à savoir #Sphenorcarcinus mammatus$ sp.nov. Deux autres espèces de ce genre, #Sphenocarcinus orbiculatus$ Guinot et Richer de Forges et #S. stuckiae$ Guinot et Richer de Forges, avaient été récemment récoltés dans la même région, au large de l'île des Pins, au sud de la Nouvelle-Calédonie. Podotreme affinities of Raninoides sp. and Lyreidus brevifrons : evidence from spermatozoal ultrastructure (Crustacea : Brachyura : Raninoidea) IRD

Spermatozoal synapomorphies which singly or collectively distinguish #Raninoidea$ are : (1) the presence of single (#Ranina$), #Raninoides$) or multiple (#Lyreidus$) keel-like projections of the acrosomal zone (#Ranina$, #Raninoides$) and an homologous large outer zone in #Lyreidus$; (3) poor differentiation of the operculum from the capsule (autapomorphy); (4) a very well developed, perforate subopercular zone, of variable form; (5) presence of unique inward longitudinal projections (septa or corrugations) in the wall of the subacrosomal chamber (autapomorphy). On the basis of several carapaces, a new species of xanthid crab, Etisus evamuellerae, is described from the Middle Miocene of the Vienna (Austria) and Great Hungarian basins. It differs from the coeval xanthids, Xantho moldavicus and Pilodius vulgaris, in having a distinctly protruding front and comparatively longer carapace. Contrary to those two species, the new one makes up for just a small percentage in the decapod crustacean assemblages studied.

Relationship of Homolidae and Dromiidae : evidence from spermatozoal ultrastructure (Crustacea, Decapoda) IRD

The homolid spermatozoon, as exemplified by #Homola$ sp., #Paromola$ sp. and #Paromola petterdi$, differs markedly from spermatozoa of crabs of the #Heterotremata$ - #Thoracotremata$ assemblage but agrees with the sperm of dromiids, in the strongly anteroposteriorly depressed acrosome (apomorphy?) and the capitate form of the perforatorium (a major synapomorphy seen nowhere else in the #Crustacea$). These similarities support inclusion of the #Dromiidae$ and #Homolidae$ in a single grouping, the #Podotremata$. The homolid perforatorium differs from that of dromiids in the autapomorphic spiked-wheel form the anterior expansion. (D'après résumé d'auteur)

Relationships of the Cyclodorippoidea Ortmann : evidence from spermatozoal ultrastructure in the genera Xeinostoma, Tymolus and Cymonomus (Crustacea, Decapoda) IRD

The spermatozoa of two genera and species of #Cyclodorippidea$, #Xeinostoma richeri$ (#Xeinostomidae$) and #Tymolus$ sp. (#Cyclodorippinae$), and one species of #Cymonomus$ sp. Revision of the Indo-Pacific Sphenocarcinus with a single rostrum and description of two new species (Crustacea, Decapoda, Brachyura, Majidae) IRD

Le genre #Sphenocarcinus$ A. Milne Edwards 1875 n'est connu dans l'Indo-Pacifique que par deux espèces à rostre simple, principalement représentées par la description originale : #S. cuneus$ (Wood-Mason 1891) et #S. aurorae$ Alcock1899. Chacune de ces deux espèces est ici redécrite et figurée d'après l'examen de spécimens types. The spermatozoa of #Homologenus$ sp., #Latreillopsis$$ sp., #Homolomannia sibogae$ and #Paramolopsis boasi$ confirm characteristics of a distinctive homolid spermatozoon previously established for #Homola$ sp., #Paromola petterdi$. Features of the spermatozoon of #Calocarcinus africanus$ which are general for heterotremes and endorse its inclusion in the Heterotremata are : extension of the subacrosomal chamber almost to the anterior apex of the sperm, presence of an acrosome ray zone, and presence of a thickened ring where the capsule surrounds the base of the subacrosomal chamber. The ultrastructure of the spermatozoon of Paradynome tuberculata Sakai, 1963 (Crustacea, Brachyura, Dynomenidae) : synapomorphies with dromiid sperm IRD

The dynomenid spermatozoon, exemplified here by #Paradynomene tuberculata$, resembles the spermatozoa of the #Dromiidae$, #Homolidae$ and lyreidine raninoids and differs markedly from those of other crabs (the heterotreme, thoracotremes, raninines and raninoidines) in the depressed, discoidal form of the acrosome and the capitate form of the perforatorium. Four of five apparent dynomenid - dromiid sperm synapomorphies are recognizable.
