Resistance of Rice Varieties to Brown Planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stal) Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]Eighteen rice varieties introduced from the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and four local commercial varieties were evaluated for their resistance to the brown planthopper in the first and second crops of 1970 at the Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station. Among IRRI introductions, H 105, Muthumanikam, and IR 9-60 were rated as highly resistant; Mudgo, ASD 7, Kayama MGL 2, Vellanlangalayan, IR 747 B2-6-3 and IR 1154-243 as resistant; PTB 18 as moderately resistant; DV 139 and AC 435 as moderately susceptible; DK 1, Bir-tsan No.3, IR 8, and IR 20 as susceptible, and Pankhari 203 and Zenith as highly susceptible. 抗褐飛蝨水稻新育成品系之田間表現 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]應用抗褐飛蝨水稻品種Mudgo和IR9-60與感蟲品種IR-8和臺中在來1號維交後代中所選得之新抗蟲品系35個,民國60年第二期作在本分所王田里水稻試驗田參加初步產量比較試驗。另219個由同一雜交組合所選獲之品系插植於嘉義縣民雄鄉試驗田,在不施用藥劑防治之自然環境下觀察其對褐飛蝨之反應,以供抗蟲育種參考。茲將初步試驗結果摘錄如下: (一) 35個參加初步產量比較試驗之新品系中,大多數品系具有較對照品種臺中在來1號為高之產量。此等品系具有短稈,分蘗力強,粒形細長和米粒半透明等優良農藝性狀。惟大多數品系之抽穗期比臺中在來1號晚約7~10天。 (二) 經室內以槃栽秧苗行人工接種方法檢定選出之219個抗褐飛蝨品系,在田間無藥劑防治自然環境下亦具高度之抵抗性,此顯示水稻對褐飛蝨之反應,秧苗期與成熟期大體一致。當感蟲品種臺中在來1號植株上褐飛蝨棲息密度激增時,抗蟲品系上之蟲口數仍甚低,甚且當臺中在來1號嚴重受害或被害枯萎時,抗蟲品系受害仍極輕微。 Yield performance of 35 newly developed brown planthopper resistant rice strains selected from the crosses between resistant varieties Mudgo and IR9-60 and susceptible varieties IR 8 and Taichung native 1 were evaluated at Wan-tien-1i farm of the Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station in the second crop of 1971. 水稻品種Mudgo對褐飛蝨抵抗性之遺傳 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]嘉義農業試驗分所59年第二期作以人工接種方法檢定臺中在來1號 × Mudgo 之 F1,F2及F3雜交後裔與IRS × Mudgo之F2植株,以及其親本對褐飛蝨之抵抗性,初步試驗結果,顯示水稻品種Mudgo所具抗蟲性為由一對顯性遺傳因子所控制。 The experiment was conducted at the Chia-yi Agricultural Experiment Station in the second crop of 1970. The reaction of F1, F2 plants and F3 families of T (N) 1 × Mudgo, and the F2 plants of IR8 × Mudgo were evaluated under artifical infestation with brown planthopper nymphs. Mudgo is highly resistant to the brown planthopper whereas IR8 and T (N) 1 are susceptible to this instect. 水稻品種(系)對稻熱病之抵抗性反應 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]水稻抗稻熱病統一病圃自民國63年至78年,16年間先後計檢定2,118個水稻品種(系)。水稻罹病情形因年度及地區而異。一般言之,稉稻品種(系)較秈稻者易罹稻熱病,尤以穗稻熱病為甚。稉稻品種(系)在第1期作亦較第2期作容易罹病,而秈稻者適相反。水稻品種(系)對葉與穗稻熱病之抵抗性反應成顯著之正相關,惟尚有少數例外。又水稻品種(系)在旱田式病圃對葉稻熱病之反應與其在水田式病圃者頗為一致,但其發病程度較水田式病圃者嚴重。本省育成之抗病品種目前多數已淪為感病,此顯示加強選育持久性抗病品種之重要性,尤其是稉稻。

水稻香米品種臺農秈20號之育成 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]臺農秈20號為本省經雜交育成之秈型香米品種,具有濃芳之香味,米質優良,並抗稻熱病,褐飛蝨等病蟲害,株高一期作109.3公分,二期作115.0公分;每株穗數一期作16.1支,二期作12.4支;全生育日數一期作143天,二期作107天;粒型中長稍細,米粒富光澤,心腹白少,直鏈性澱粉含量18.5%,種子稍具休眠性,稻穀產量根據區域試驗結果,平均每公頃一期作為6,061公斤,二期作為5,371公斤,一期作在高屏地區較高產,二期作在褐飛蝨易發生地區都適合栽培。 本品種耐寒性較差,一期作不宜過早育苗及插秧,以免秧苗受寒害,又本品種較易脫粒,在沿海季節風較大地區避免種植,以免脫粒損失,香米之香味為揮發性,因比貯藏時最好放置通風良好之涼冷地方。 Rice variety Tainung Sen 20 was a selection from the cross between Chianung Shi-pi 671178 and a F4 line, having heavy aromatic flavor, excellent rice quality and resistance to blast disease and brown planthopper. [[abstract]][[abstract]]臺農72號為稉型稻香米,於民國67年2期作以嘉農系比662007為母本,與日本引進香米品種大正撰雜交而成,本品種具有濃郁的香味、米質佳、抗褐飛蝨之特性,株高一期作97.4cm,二期作102.4cm;穗數一期作17.2 支,二期作14.1支;生育日數一期作135天,二期作108天;稻穀產量一期作6,344kg/ha,二期作5,038kg/ha,比對照品種分別減產2%及9.7%,本品種桿莖稍細,在成熟期易受環境影響,而導致倒伏,臺農72號適宜中南部地區栽培,臺農72號初期生育緩慢,分蘗較差,為促進早期分蘗,提高產量,基肥及插秧後早期之追肥頗為重要。 A Japonica (Keng) type scented rice variety, Tainung 72 (TNG 72) was derivated from a cross between Chianung J662007 and Taishousen (Japanese local scented rice variety). 長粒型秈稻之休眠性與脫粒性研究 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]為明瞭新育成推廣之長粒型秈稻品種嘉農秈6.8.11號之種子休眠性,適當的稻種預措方法及脫粒性等以謀發揮其優越之生產潛力,減少損失,於63年二期作至64年一期作在本分所進行本試驗。結果摘錄如下: 1. 嘉農秈品種具有長短不同的短期休眠性,嘉農秈6號之休眠期最長,約為兩週左右,嘉農秈8號次之,約為7天前後,而嘉農秈11號似未具休眠性;故嘉農仙6.8號之稻種在收穫乾燥後至少須分別存放兩週或一週以上,而嘉農秈11號之稻種亦應充分乾燥後方可供下期作播種之用。 2. 稻穀收穫後,須充分乾燥至含水量在13度以下,一期作在播種前須浸種48~72小時,催芽24小時;而二期作應浸種24小時,催芽24小時,方能確保稻種之發芽車與發芽整齊度。 3. 嘉農秈三個品種均屬於較易脫粒之品種,尤以嘉農秈8號最易脫粒,嘉農秈11號次之,而以嘉農秈6號較難脫粒;又嘉農秈6.8號有隨著成熟度之增加而愈易脫粒之現象,應適時採收以減少田間損失率;但嘉農秈11號具有愈成熟愈不易脫粒特性,故其採收延誤時應無嚴重之損失。 This experiment was aimed to study the grain dormancy, seed pretreatments and shattering habit of new-improved long grain Indica rice varieties Chianung sen 6, 8 and 11 in order to exploit their full potentiality and reduce the possible losses.
