[[abstract]]The effects of 2 fertilizer rates, 3 planting densities, and 3 shapes of planting on the growth of rice conducted in the second crop of 1963 and the first crop of 1964 at Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station are reported. Grain yields increased with increasing fertilizers and planting densities. The increase of yields was more pronounced in the first crop of rice. Differences in yields between fertilizer rates as well as among planting densities were not signifi-cant except in planting density of the first crop, 1964. [[abstract]]The effects of time of fertilizer application on yield, components of yield, and some important agronomic characters of rice evaluated in 1965 at the Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station are summarized. Treatment C with nitrogen fertilizer top-dressed at maximum tillering stage and treatment F, at both maximum tillering and panicle initation stages produced the highest yields in both crops. The yield increases appeared to be due largely to the increase of panicles per hill. Top-dressings of nitrogen fertilizer before maximum tillering stage did not contribute to yield increase. REACTION OF RICE VARIETIES AND STRAINS TO BLAST IN THE UNIFORM BLAST NURSERY Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]A total of 161 varieties, selections, and lines were tested for reaction to com-posites of races of the blast fungus in the uniform blast nursery of the Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station during the 9-year period, 1956-1964. Forty out of 161 entries were found to have similar or higher resistance to leaf blast than the resistant check variety, Chianung 242. Among these, 5 were highly resistant, 25 resistant, and 10 moderately resistant. Only 3 commercial varieties were resistant while the other 19 varieties were susceptible to leaf blast. 尿素石膏鎂複合肥料對水稻之肥效試驗 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]1. 本試驗為測定尿素石膏鎂肥料對水稻之效果,採用隨機區組設計,三種肥料(尿素石膏鎂、硫酸錏、尿素)三種肥料量(80公斤、120公斤、160公斤)計得九處理,加對照區共十處理,重複六次,小區面積2.5m×4m=10m2,合 公頃。 2. 根據試驗分析結果,不同肥料處理問之差異達極顯著水準。產量最高者為尿素石膏鎂160公斤,次為硫酸錏160公斤,尿素列第三。又肥料種類問之差異亦極顯著。 3. 由產量構成因素資料分析,在各處理中可發現穗數為產量增加最大之原因。 4. 初步試驗結果顯示尿素石膏鎂為一高度有效之稻田肥料。 1. 抗褐飛蝨水稻新育成品系之田間表現 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]應用抗褐飛蝨水稻品種Mudgo和IR9-60與感蟲品種IR-8和臺中在來1號維交後代中所選得之新抗蟲品系35個,民國60年第二期作在本分所王田里水稻試驗田參加初步產量比較試驗。另219個由同一雜交組合所選獲之品系插植於嘉義縣民雄鄉試驗田,在不施用藥劑防治之自然環境下觀察其對褐飛蝨之反應,以供抗蟲育種參考。茲將初步試驗結果摘錄如下: (一) 35個參加初步產量比較試驗之新品系中,大多數品系具有較對照品種臺中在來1號為高之產量。此等品系具有短稈,分蘗力強,粒形細長和米粒半透明等優良農藝性狀。惟大多數品系之抽穗期比臺中在來1號晚約7~10天。 (二) 經室內以槃栽秧苗行人工接種方法檢定選出之219個抗褐飛蝨品系,在田間無藥劑防治自然環境下亦具高度之抵抗性,此顯示水稻對褐飛蝨之反應,秧苗期與成熟期大體一致。當感蟲品種臺中在來1號植株上褐飛蝨棲息密度激增時,抗蟲品系上之蟲口數仍甚低,甚且當臺中在來1號嚴重受害或被害枯萎時,抗蟲品系受害仍極輕微。 Yield performance of 35 newly developed brown planthopper resistant rice strains selected from the crosses between resistant varieties Mudgo and IR9-60 and susceptible varieties IR 8 and Taichung native 1 were evaluated at Wan-tien-1i farm of the Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station in the second crop of 1971. 旱田式病圃之抗稻熱病育種試驗 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]](1)本試驗為試探利用旱田式病圃淘汰罹病個體之實用價值,初步觀察結果,證明較原採用之水田式病圃方法簡便,又可增加單位面積內栽植個體數,且不受其他氣侯環境等因子之支配,發病容易而均勻。 (2)在本分所病圃內,稻熱病週年均可發病,除了冬季12、1月因氣溫較低不易發病外,其他時期均可誘發嚴重之病害,在雨季若能選擇排水良好場地,設置為病圃,其發病情形亦甚良好。 (3)濕度之保持與本試驗之發病有密切之關係,每日早晚之葉面噴水,亦即生育初期之噴水工作是本試驗誘發病害之最大因素。 (4)水稻生長在旱田與水田狀態,因土壤理化性之不同而使水稻生理機能互異,因此土壤過濕時,雖然葉面上有充分之濕度,亦難使其全面發病。 (5)據試驗結果得知在2月下旬至3月及8月下旬至9月播種者其發病最為嚴重,如能採用世代促進方法再配合此一旱田式病圃法,對本省抗病育種工作,定可收到宏大之效果,而值得其他場所仿效採用。 1. 水稻世代促進法F2集團在溫室栽培條件下其主要農藝性狀變異性之研究 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]本試驗於民國58年第1期作以臺中在來1號 × CP 231、臺南5號 × CI 9504、與嘉南242號 × 朝日等3種不同組合之F2為材料。在嘉義農業試驗分所溫室內進行世代促進栽培並觀察生育日數、株高、穗長及每穗數之變異性。 在世代促進栽培之F2稻株,因受空間及養料之限制,致有關性狀平均植均大為縮小,每穗粒數受影響最大、株高、穗長次之,生育日數最小。 生育日數之遺傳力很高、株高、穗長及每穗粒數較少,由此可知,在世代促進栽培之F2集團內對生育日數之選拔當屬有效。 生育日數與株高、穗長、每穗粒數之表現型相關多為負相關,前兩者達極顯著水準,株高與穗長,每穗粒及穗長與每穗粒數之相關,均為極顯著正相關,由此可見,選拔早熟個體或因子型時將可間接導致稈長、穗長及每穗粒數的狀之增加。 Heritability values and correlation coefficients were calculated for heading date, plant height, panicle longth, and number of grains per panicle in the F2 populations of rice crosses Taichung native 1 × CP 231, Tainan 5 × CI 9504, and Chianung 242 × IR 9-60. [[abstract]](1) 本試驗為應用世代促進方法縮短水稻之生長日數,使原來育種法之年二世代增至三世代以縮短育種年限,加速新品種之育成為目的。 (2) 試驗方法分為室外直播法及溫室內短日處理及不處理即(自然日長區)等三處理,採用30×60×5cm之播種盤,經二次播種第一次播種室外直播與溫室內短日處理及自然日長區等均獲如期之結果,第二次播種因冬季寒冷室外直播區生長缺佳,在預定時期內不抽穗之外,室內者亦有二品種不抽穗,但其他各品種(系)均能如期抽穗。 (3) 以品種而言,早熟品種及早熟品種什交後代品系中晚熟品種縮短效果大,如以中晚熟品種臺中65號為例,其在第一次播種生長日數為106天,第二次播種129天,第三次播種估計110天,合計345天,年得三世代尚屬可能,而早熟品種即更易達到。 (4) 各處理間(室外直播與溫室內短日處理及自然日長區)僅以中晚熟品種在室外直播區者出穗稍遲外,其餘品種在各處理間生育日數之差異並不大。 (5) 抑制生長提早抽穗是本試驗之目的,株高、穗數、每穗粒數、葉數等受到抑制,因此均較一般普通栽培者為少。 (6) 本省中晚熟水稻品種,其感光性均不敏感,屬基本營養生長型,短日處理區與溫室內盤播自然日長區抑制栽培者,生育日數並無多大差異。 1. [[abstract]]本試驗係將台中在來1號 × CP231、嘉農242號 × IRP-60與C223 × Piro4等三種雜交組合之F2集團分別以世代促進法及一般慣行法繁殖,所得F3集團則一方面再以世代促進法及慣行法分別在室內及田間栽培,另一方面則將此兩種來源不同之F3集團同時按慣行法在田間栽培,以觀察其主要農藝性狀如生育日數、株高、穗長、一穗粒數,每株穗數及每株谷重之變異性。 以世代促進法栽培之F3集團,因受空間及養料之限制,致其主要農藝性狀之平均值均較以慣行法栽培者為小,而生育日數受世代促進法栽培條件之影響顯然較其他性狀為輕。兩種來源不同之F3集團同時以一般慣行法在田間栽培時,兩者之生有日數頗為相似,惟來自世代促進法之F3集團,其平均株高似較來自慣行法者為小,而前者之平均每株穗數及每株谷重則較後者為大。 主要農藝性狀之變方及變異係數,以世代促進法栽培之F3集團與以慣行法栽培者,雖因雜交組合之不同而有大小之別,但兩者之間差異不大,兩種來源不同之F3集團以慣行法栽培時,來自世代兄進法者其有關性狀之變方及變異係數在台中在來1號 × CP231什交組合均較來自慣行法者為小,而在嘉農242號 × IRP-60則均較來自慣行法者為大,C223 × Piro4則因性狀而不同,惟來源不同之F3集團間之差異不大,由此可知水稻雜種集團若以世代促進法繁殖時,亦可保持該集團內有關性狀之正常變異性。 F2 generation of the crosses, Taichung native 1 × CP 231, Chiangung 424 × IR 9-60, and C 223 × Pi No.4 were raised by Both “Generation Acceleration Method” and...

[[abstract]]為探求水稻品種(系)耐鹽測定方法,了解品種間之耐鹽性以及耐鹽育種應用上之可行方法,採用三種不同方法加以觀察、比較,以供抗鹽育種之參考。 1.土壤含鹽乾土重0.1%、0.2%、0.3%、0.4%、0.5%等5處理,濃度愈高,鹽害愈速而嚴重,以0.3%處理較恰當。 2.三種測定方法結果大致相同,以秧苗灌注鹽水法較為理想,且多數固體可同時進行。 3.不同生育期與耐鹽性之關係,植株愈大樹生增強,以4葉秧苗檢定成績較佳。 4.品種檢定結果以Hasawi之抗劉生最強。 Three methods were employed to test the resistance of rice varieties to salt in order to find a suitable way to screen the rice varieties or lines which were used in rice breeding progrom for salt resistant. 1. [[abstract]]在本分所選育中之水稻系統對褐飛蝨(Nilaparvata lugens stal )之抵抗性,在幼苗期為抗性反應者至成熟期部份轉為感蟲。這種抗蟲性之轉變稉稻系統較和秈稻系統所佔比例為高。惟若干在幼苗期呈現中感程度之系統在成熟期卻有良好之抗蟲性、頗有利用之價值。由供試材料在不同生育時期之抗蟲性反應可知現行抗蟲性之篩選方法有加以檢討改進之必要。 Reaction of F3, F4 and F5 lines of rice to the brown planthopper at seedling and maturing stages were observed in the second crop of 1981 at Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station. [[abstract]]本試驗自民國65年7月至67年6月在嘉義農業試驗分所進行,其目的在於利用世代促進法兼行抗蟲性之檢定,以提高抗蟲育種之效果。初步結果顯示在世代促進法繁殖之水稻早期分離集團實施對褐飛蝨之抗蟲性檢定時可提高各集團之抗蟲率,有利於抗蟲系統之選拔,而對育成系統之生產力及主要農藝性狀則均無不良之影響。此外,世代促進法與抗蟲檢定之併用不但可節省很多人力與物力,而且年可繁殖三世代,有縮短育種年限之效果。 在世代促進法繁殖之水稻分離集團中進行抗蟲檢定時,其接蟲時間以5-7日為宜,切勿過長以免淘汰中抗程度之個體或影響檢定後幼苗之復原。 初步結果顯示在F2及F4世代行抗蟲檢定而F3世代不檢定時其感蟲後代之淘汰率與每世代均檢定者相若,顯示簡化抗蟲性之選拔,並不影響其育種效率。 This experiment was conducted from July 1976 to June 1978 at the Chiayi Agricultural Experiment Station with the objective of improving the efficiency of breeding rice for resistance to the brown planthopper by screening for insect resistance in the segregating generations treated with Repid Generation Advance (RGA) method. [[abstract]]臺農70號係以臺農57號為母本與嘉農系比662028雜交而育成。本品種具有高產良質及抗多種病蟲害之特性。株高一期作106.1公分,二期作115.8公分比臺農67號稍高;穗數一期作16.7支,二期作14.4支;全生育日數一期作140天,二期作109天;稻穀產量根據全省區域試驗7個地區平均一期作為6,230公斤,二期作為5,685公斤,較對照品種臺農67號增產0.1~7.3%;糙米率一期82.1%,二期作81.4%。 本品種穗大且稈莖強度稍差,因此在成熟時易傾斜而倒伏。本品種適應性廣,適於中南部第二期作褐飛蝨(Nilaparata lugens stal)易發生地區栽值。臺農70號雖對稻熱病具有抗性,但76年一期作在中南部地區曾發生部份稻熱病為害情形,推測因栽培面積急增,為害該品種之生理小種頻度增強所造成。 Rice variety Tainung 70 was a selection from the progensis of a cross between Tainung 67 and Chia-nung-sipi 66028, having a high-yield potential, good quality and resistance to major diseases and insect pests. [[abstract]]臺農秈20號為本省經雜交育成之秈型香米品種,具有濃芳之香味,米質優良,並抗稻熱病,褐飛蝨等病蟲害,株高一期作109.3公分,二期作115.0公分;每株穗數一期作16.1支,二期作12.4支;全生育日數一期作143天,二期作107天;粒型中長稍細,米粒富光澤,心腹白少,直鏈性澱粉含量18.5%,種子稍具休眠性,稻穀產量根據區域試驗結果,平均每公頃一期作為6,061公斤,二期作為5,371公斤,一期作在高屏地區較高產,二期作在褐飛蝨易發生地區都適合栽培。 本品種耐寒性較差,一期作不宜過早育苗及插秧,以免秧苗受寒害,又本品種較易脫粒,在沿海季節風較大地區避免種植,以免脫粒損失,香米之香味為揮發性,因比貯藏時最好放置通風良好之涼冷地方。 Rice variety Tainung Sen 20 was a selection from the cross between Chianung Shi-pi 671178 and a F4 line, having heavy aromatic flavor, excellent rice quality and resistance to blast disease and brown planthopper. [[abstract]][[abstract]]臺農72號為稉型稻香米,於民國67年2期作以嘉農系比662007為母本,與日本引進香米品種大正撰雜交而成,本品種具有濃郁的香味、米質佳、抗褐飛蝨之特性,株高一期作97.4cm,二期作102.4cm;穗數一期作17.2 支,二期作14.1支;生育日數一期作135天,二期作108天;稻穀產量一期作6,344kg/ha,二期作5,038kg/ha,比對照品種分別減產2%及9.7%,本品種桿莖稍細,在成熟期易受環境影響,而導致倒伏,臺農72號適宜中南部地區栽培,臺農72號初期生育緩慢,分蘗較差,為促進早期分蘗,提高產量,基肥及插秧後早期之追肥頗為重要。 A Japonica (Keng) type scented rice variety, Tainung 72 (TNG 72) was derivated from a cross between Chianung J662007 and Taishousen (Japanese local scented rice variety).
