The application ofS-ABA enantiomer to clusters of poor pigmentation cultivarscan improve grape color. The aim of this study was to assess whetherS-ABA applied toclusters of the new hybrid ?BRS Melodia? seedless grape can improve its colorcharacteristics and to evaluate the consumer acceptance. The following treatments wereevaluated: Control;S-ABA at 200 mg·LL17 days after veraison (DAV);S-ABA at 400mg·LL17 DAV;S-ABA at 200 mg·LL17 DAV+200 mg·LL121 DAV; andS-ABA at 400mg·LL17 DAV+400 mg·LL121 DAV. To apply the treatments, clusters were sprayedusing a backpack sprayer until runoff. The exogenous application ofS-ABA significantlyimproves the color of berries of ?BRS Melodia? seedless grape, particularly at aconcentration of 400 mg·LL1in two applications, at 7... |

Grapes are considered to be a major source of phenolic compounds as compared with other fruits. To improve the quality of table grapes, some techniques like thinning can be used. In addition, grape cultivars with distinct characteristics are directly linked to its phenolic profile. This study aimed to identify and quantify the phenolic compound profile and yieldof the hybrid ?BRS Vitoria? seedless table grape under different bunchdensities, using a combination of solid-phase extraction (SPE) methodologies and analytical high-performance liquidchromatography-diode array detector with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC?DAD?ESI-MS/MS). |

In colored table grapes, the anthocyanin contents are inhibited by the high temperature during ripening and berries suffer a lack of skin color, thus affecting their market value. In order to overcome this issue, a research study was planned to evaluate the influence of (S)-cis-abscisic acid (S-ABA) on rates of anthocyanin accumulation in table grapes when applied at different timings of ripening, and to quantify the gradual increase of berry color. The study was conducted in a commercial vineyard of ?Benitaka? table grapes (Vitis vinifera L.), grown under double annual cropping system in a subtropical area. The trials were carried out during two consecutive seasons (i.e., summer season of 2015 and off-season of 2016). The treatments used for the... |

The objective of this study was to evaluate techniques, such as flower-cluster and berry-cluster thinning at different times, to prevent bunch compactness of ?BRS Vitoria?, a new black seedless grape. The experiment was conducted during two consecutive seasons (2013 and 2014) in a commercial vineyard located in Marialva, PR, Brazil. The grapevines were trained in an overhead trellis system, spaced at 2.5 × 5.0 m. The experimental design used was randomized blocks with four replications and six treatments: control (no thinning); flower-cluster thinning or brushing prior to anthesis; and berry-cluster thinning at different times, when berries were 3?6, 7?10, 11?15, or 16?18 mm in diameter. The bunch compactness incidence was evaluated according to the... |
