First record of Epinephelus marginatus (Serranidae: Epinephelinae) in the eastern English Channel ArchiMer
Mahe, Kelig; Cochard, Marie-laure; Quero, Jean-claude; Sevin, Karine; Bailly, Nicolas; Tetard, Alain.

Report of the Saithe (Polliachius virens, L.) Otolith Exchange 2013 ArchiMer
Mahe, Kelig; Sevin, Karine; Petursdottir, Groa; Finnbogadottir, Gudrun; Wilhelms, Ines; Beußel, Friederike; Bland, Barbara; Solbakken, Lisbet; Seim, Silje E.; Holm, Else; Mjanger, Hildegunn; Senneset, Harald; Ottesen, Merete V.; Skadal, Janicke.
The ICES Planning Group on Commercial Catch, Discards and Biological Sampling (PGCCDBS) identified the need of a Saithe (Polliachius virens) otolith exchange to take place in 2013. It was the second exchange after that’s of 2008. The IFREMER institute coordinated this exchange. A total of 295 fish was sampled from the Barent sea (ICES area : IIa, N=24), from the North Sea (ICES area : IV, N=34) and from the Western Scotland (ICES area : VIa, N=237). The length range of the fish was between 37 and 96 cm, with mean 60 cm. 13 readers from 5 countries (France, Germany, Iceland, Sweden & Norway) were participated. Mean precision of age estimate for individual fish were Coefficient of Variation (CV) of 6.2% and percent agreement to modal age of 85.9. Among...

Report of the Seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) Otolith and Scale Exchange Scheme 2011 ArchiMer
Mahe, Kelig; Holmes, Alison; Huet, Jerome; Sevin, Karine; Elleboode, Romain.
For seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax), Otolith and Scale Exchange Scheme 2011 was the first exchange. A total of 155 fish from Eastern English Channel (ICES area : VIId) was sampled on-board French research vessels (Gwen-Drez and Thalassa) during 2 international surveys (Channel Ground Fish Survey and International Bottom Trawl Survey). The length range of the fish was between 17 and 74 cm, with a mean length at 46.99 cm. For each fish, the Sagittae otoliths and few scales were used to compare the age estimation between both calcified pieces. 4 readers were participated from UK England (1 reader) and France (3 readers). Only images were used during this exchange. There were noted by the readers that it was very difficult to obtain an image of the scale with...

Report of the Seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) Otolith and Scale Exchange Scheme 2013 ArchiMer
Mahe, Kelig; Sevin, Karine; Moerman, Martine; Holmes, Alison.
The ICES Planning Group on Commercial Catch, Discards and Biological Sampling (PGCCDBS) identified the need of a seabass Dicentrarchus labrax) otolith exchange to take place in 2013. It was the second exchange after that’s of 2011. The IFREMER institute coordinated this exchange. A total of 223 fish from the bay of Biscay (ICES area : VIII, N=29), the Eastern English Channel (ICES area : VIId, N=149) and the North Sea (ICES area : IV, N=45) was sampled onboard French research vessels (Gwen-Drez and Thalassa) during 3 international surveys (EVHOE, CGFS and IBTS). The length range of the fish was between 26 and 71 cm, with mean 42.3 cm. For each fish, the Sagittae otoliths and few scales were used to compare the age estimation between the both calcified...

Suivi 2011 des captures d'anguilles pour la DCF : analyse des otolithes ArchiMer
Mahe, Kelig; Penil, Caroline; Sevin, Karine.

Variability of PCB burden in 5 fish and sharks species of the French Mediterranean continental slope ArchiMer
Cresson, Pierre; Fabri, Marie-claire; Miralles, Francoise Marco; Dufour, Jean-louis; Elleboode, Romain; Sevin, Karine; Mahe, Kelig; Bouchoucha, Marc.
Despite being generally located far from contamination sources, deep marine ecosystems are impacted by chemicals like PCB. The PCB contamination in five fish and shark species collected in the continental slope of the Gulf of Lions (NW Mediterranean Sea) was measured, with a special focus on intra- and interspecific variability and on the driving factors. Significant differences occurred between species. Higher values were measured in Scyliorhinus canicula, Galeus melastomus and Helicolenus dactylopterus and lower values in Phycis blennoides and Lepidorhombus boscii. These differences might be explained by specific abilities to accumulate and eliminate contaminant, mostly through cytochrome P450 pathway. Interindividual variation was also high and no...
