Effetto dei suoli degradati sul comportamento vegeto-produttivo della vite Organic Eprints
Zombardo, A.; Puccioni, S.; Perria, R.; Leprini, M.; Priori, S.; Costantini, E.A.C.; Storchi, Paolo.
In Italian vineyards it is common to find more or less extended areas with chemico-physical or biological soil deficiencies and problems in plant vigor and grape production. A reduced agronomic functionality is caused by wrong soil managements and improper land preparation before vine plantations. A strong land transformation alters, in fact, the existing natural balance, causing loss of organic matter and nutrients, erosions, reduction of available water and metal accumulation. This phenomenon affects the growth of vines and the grape yields. The aim of this work is to evaluate the effect of degraded soils on the vineyards of two Tuscan vine-growing regions (Chianti Classico and Maremma Toscana). In two farms, we have identified respectively...

VineMan.org: innovative strategies for enhancing disease management in organic vineyards Organic Eprints
Legler, Sara Elisabetta; Caffi, Tito; Poni, Stefano; Kassemeyer, Hanns-Heinz; Rosner, Franz; Reisenzein, Helga; Strauss, Gudrun; Gorfer, Markus; Storchi, Paolo; Schroers, Hans-Josef; Tardaguila, Javier; Rossi, Vittorio.
Organic viticulture has grown considerably in the last decade; nonetheless, organic farming still has a huge potential for innovation and improved solutions specifically for the control of pests and pathogens. The research project VineMan.org (www.vineman-org.eu), funded by European Union within the CORE Organic II ERA-Net (project no. 249667), aims at improving disease control, one of the most difficult tasks in organic viticulture, through innovative cropping systems based on integration of: i) enhanced plant resistance, ii) vineyard management practices, iii) use of biological control agents, and iv) targeted applications based on disease models. During the first year, the above mentioned components of an integrated system have been developed and...
