A key to the East Palaearctic and Oriental species of the genus Rhysipolis Foerster, and the first host records of Rhysipolis longicaudatus Belokobylskij (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Rhysipolinae) Naturalis

A key to the East Palaearctic and northern Oriental species of Rhysipolis Foerster, 1862 (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Rhysipolinae) is presented. Rhysipolis longicaudatus Belokobylskij, 1994 (stat. nov.) is redescribed, the first host records are given and it is reported new for China. Rhysipolis longicaudatus was reared from Taleporia sp. (Lepidoptera: Psychidae) in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and from Bazaria turensis Ragonot (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) in Qinghai Province.

Des ovules non fécondés et des ovules prélevés 8 jours après pollinisation chez 3 génotypes de pommier « R1-49 », « Lodi » et « Erovan » ont été mis en culture in vitro sur des milieux comportant le milieu de base de MURASHIGE & SKOOG complété avec diverses combinaisons en phytohormones et saccharose. Deux embryoïdes chez « R1-49 » et des cals chez « Lodi » et « Erovan » ont été induits après culture des ovules non fécondés. De nombreuses plantes issues soit de germination directe, soit de néoformation de bourgeons adventifs ont été obtenues sur les 3 génotypes par culture des embryons prélevés 8 jours après pollinisation ; toutes ces plantes présentent un phénotype normal, comparable au phénotype de plantes diploïdes. Considering the insufficient supply of long-chain polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids often prevailing in Western populations, this report deals mainly with alterations of Ca2+ fluxes and Ca2+-dependent insulin secretory events in isolated pancreatic islets from omega-3-depleted rats. In terms of Ca-45(2+) handling, the islets from omega-3-depleted rats, compared with those from normal animals, displayed an unaltered responsiveness to an increase in extracellular K+ concentration, a lower inflow rate and lower fractional outflow rate of the divalent cation, and higher Ca-45(2+)-labeled cellular pool(s) at isotopic equilibrium. Phylogenetic and morphological assessment of two new species of Amniculicola and their allies (Pleosporales) Naturalis

Two new species of Amniculicola, A. immersa sp. nov. and A. parva sp. nov. from submerged wood in a freshwater environment in Denmark and France are respectively described and illustrated. In addition, partial 28S rDNA sequence data is analysed to investigate their phylogenetic relationships with other pleosporalean taxa. All presently known Amniculicola species, A. immersa, A. lignicola and A. parva, form a robust clade together with the anamorphic species Anguillospora longissima, Spirosphaera cupreorufescens and Repetophragma ontariense. Pathology to vertebrate hosts has emerged repeatedly in the order Ophiostomatales. Occasional infections have been observed in Sporothrix mexicana at a low level of virulence, while the main pathogenic species cluster in a derived clade around S. schenckii s.str. In this paper, phylogeny and epidemiology of the members of this clade were investigated for 99 clinical and 36 environmental strains using four genetic loci, viz. rDNA ITS and partial CAL, TEF1, and TEF3; data are compared with amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) genotyping. China is a high population country with millions of animal bite cases every year; thus, it is necessary to explore and develop more effective and productive rabies vaccines for human use. To establish a safe, effective, inexpensive and high-yield rabies vaccine, a non-adjuvant purified Vero cell rabies vaccine produced in the SPEEDA PVRV microcarrier bioreactor was developed by Liaoning Chengda Biology Co. Ltd. in China. This vaccine was produced using Vero cells that were cultured in a microcarrier bioreactor. A microcarrier bioreactor containing 25 g/L of Cytodex-1 was used for perfusion culture.
