Anthocyanic composition of Tannat grapes from the south region of Uruguay Inra

The anthocyanic composition of Tannat grapes produced in different vineyards in the south region of Uruguay was studied. Two training systems (vertical trellis and lyre) and two pruning methods (Guyot and Royal cordon) in the lyre were considered. A follow-up was carried out, considering 60 plants per treatment, and the vintage was determined according to the traditional indices of maturity. At the moment of the harvest, samples of grapes were taken in duplicate in each treatment and the soluble solids, total acidity, pH, phenolic richness, total potential in anthocyanins and extractable anthocyanin contents were determined. Ectopic expression of VlmybA1 in grapevine activates a narrow set of genes involved in anthocyanin synthesis and transport Inra

The colour of the red wine is essentially due to the release of anthocyanins from the red skin of grape berries during the process of wine making. Anthocyanins are synthesized during ripening of the berries under the control of VvMYBA1 transcription factor that controls the expression of UFGT. In order to identify the whole set of downstream regulated genes, we targeted constitutive ectopic expression of VlmybA1-2 into grapevine hairy roots and plants. The ectopic expression of VlmybA1-2 triggered de novo production and storage of anthocyanins in all transgenic vegetative organs, leading to a very intense red coloration, and did not interfere with proanthocyanidin (PA) biosynthesis. In grapevine (Vitis vinifera), anthocyanins are responsible for most of the red, blue, and purple pigmentation found in the skin of berries. In cells, anthocyanins are synthesized in the cytoplasm and accumulated into the vacuole. However, little is known about the transport of these compounds through the tonoplast. Recently, the sequencing of the grapevine genome allowed us to identify genes encoding proteins with high sequence similarity to the Multidrug And Toxic Extrusion (MATE) family. Monomeric phenols of cashew apple (Anacardium occidentale L.) Inra

Monomeric phenols were extracted by acetone/water (60:40) from the skin and flesh of four cashew apple genotypes from Brazil and Benin (West Africa), purified by absorption chromatography and subjected to HPLC-DAD/ESI-MS analysis. Skins were found much richer than fleshes in simple phenolics. Flavonol glycosides were dominant with myricetin and quercetin hexosides (2 of each), pentosides (3 of each), and rhamnosides as majorcompounds. Anthocyanidin glycosides were detected in skins from the two scarlet and orange pigmented genotypes as peonidin, petunidin and cyanidin 3-O-hexosides, and were absent from fleshes

Utilisation par l’informatique et traitement statistique d’un fichier ampélographique Inra

L’ampélographie reste un problème d’actualité chez Vitis vinifera L. En effet, reconnaître et identifier une variété est souvent une opération délicate. Ceci est dû au grand nombre de cépages existants et à l’importance de la fluctuation présente au sein de chacun d’eux. Une aide à la reconnaissance est proposée en utilisant par des moyens informatiques un fichier ampélographique portant sur 5 226 clones (2 076 variétés). Ce fichier a été réalisé au Domaine de VASSAL (I.N.R.A., 34340 Marseillan-Plage). Les descriptions intéressent 75 caractères, ce qui représente 272 modalités. Après sauvegarde de ces données sur Mini 6, un programme en Pascal a été mis au point permettant de questionner ce fichier et d’obtenir ainsi des listes d’hypothèses pouvant...
