Integrated nutrient management is a major agronomic practice which brings together all methods to support plants nutritional requirement. However, the interaction of these methods together is very complex and needs to be studied in different climatic conditions. So, the effect of nitrogen fertilizer and Azospirillum lipoferum inoculation on maize (Zea mays L.) growth, yield and nutrients uptake was determined in this study. The hypothesis was that the bacterial inoculation decreases the need for N fertilizer application without reducing plant yield. Durante el temporal de 2009, se realizó un estudio de campo en Cocula, Gro. (clima cálido) y Montecillo, Méx. (clima templado) en una variedad de frijol chino (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) de crecimiento indeterminado. Se evaluó el rendimiento de grano, biomasa total, índices de crecimiento, eficiencia en el uso del agua y rentabilidad económica en espaldera convencional (FS), espaldera de maíz (FM) y girasol (FG), con y sin biofertilizantes. Se registró la temperatura máxima y mínima, cantidad de lluvia y evaporación. La producción de vaina verde solo se evaluó en clima cálido en función del tipo de espaldera. The low availability of phosphorus (P) in the soil and the high cost of P fertilization are factors that limit agricultural productivity. A biotechnological alternative for to handle this problem is to use soil microorganisms capable of dissolving rock phosphate (RP), thus improving its effectiveness as a P fertilizer. The largest numbers of the Brazilian traditional upland rice varieties are found in the Maranhão state, Northeast region of Brazil. However, no information is available on the diazotrophic bacterial population associated as well as the plant growth promoting potential when these traditional genotypes are inoculated with native strains. Here, we evaluated the response of ten traditional rice varieties to inoculation with ten diazotrophic strains, previously isolated from rice soil of this region and screened for their ability to produce indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) in vitro. No Pantanal Mato-Grossense, os solos arenosos (Podzois Hidromorficos) que compoem as sub-regioes da Nhecolandia e dos Paiaguas sao de baixa fertilidade. Nos niveis geomorficos pouco susceptiveis ao alagamento, foram feitos experimentos com o objetivo de testar efeitos da aplicacao de nutrientes, calcario e biofertilizante em forrageiras. Em area de "cordilheira" (cordao arenoso) de baixa fertilidade, Brachiaria decumbens respondeu a aplicacao de nutrientes. Apos tres anos de cultivo respondeu a nitrogenio, enxofre e potassio. The aims were to explore an appropriate isolating medium for obtaining purple nonsulfur bacteria (PNSB) for use as biofertilizers in saline paddy fields and to obtain pure cultures. We therefore chose a defined isolating medium containing 0.25% NaCl, (Glutamate-Acetate broth, GA) and a rice straw broth to compare them for numbers of PNSB obtained, time to obtain pure cultures, diversity and costs. A total of 30 water and 30 sediment samples were collected from saline paddy fields in southern Thailand and used to isolate PNSB in both the isolating media. El objetivo de ésta investigación fue elaborar un biofertilizante líquido (Biol) fermentado anaeróbicamente, utilizando subproductos animales y vegetales, además de evaluar su eficacia en el cultivo de maíz, se contrasto con aplicaciones de fertilizante químico (manejo tradicional) y un biofertilizante comercial. Dado que no existe una dosis generada para aplicaciones con biofertilizantes se probaron tres concentraciones (5%, 10%, 15%) con el fin de obtener una dosis óptima preliminar de biofertilización del maíz. Using plant growth promoting microbes is an alternative approach for reducing cost and enhancing good health of crop plants. This research aims to establish the application protocol for enhance growth of tomato at seedling and transplanting stages by antagonistic Streptomyces-PR87 which will be applied further to farmer. The experiments were carried out using two varieties of tomato, e.g. var.Sida and var.Tomato32. The objectives of this study were to compare the use of bio-fertilizers LDD 12 combination with compost between LDD recommendation and farmers use, which affect on rice (Khao Dowk Mali 105 variety) yield, the economic internal of return and soil chemical properties. Soil was the soil series group no.17 (Renu soil series). A randomized completely block design (RCBD) with 7 treatments were employed. The result of this study found that soil pH in all treatments was increased. Soil organic matter was increased (0.44-0.66%). The use of compost produced by farmer alone, compost produced by farmer with chemical fertilizer at the rate 1/2 and compost produced by farmer with chemical fertilizer at the rate 3/4 led to the highest available phosphorus in both 2 years...
