Depending on the greenhouse gas emission scenarios, air [CO2] could rise to between 421 and 936 ?L L-1, accompanied by a global surface warming between 0.3 and 4.8?C along the 2nd half of the present century. It is well known that supra-optimal air temperatures may cause significant disturbances in metabolism and plant growth, since biochemical reactions are accelerated, the chemical bonds are weakened and the lipid matrix of membranes becomes more fluid. Thylakoid membranes are particularly sensitive to supra-optimal temperatures, so that impairments at the photochemical steps of photosynthesis are among the first indicators of sensitivity to heat stress. La clorosis por deficiencia de hierro (Fe) es un estrés abiótico encontrado principalmente en cultivos que crecen en suelos calcáreos o alcalinos (Rombolà y Tagliavini, 2007). Como resultado de la deficiencia de Fe se altera la morfología y fisiología de las plantas (Bertamini y Nedunchezhian, 2005). Se determinaron algunos cambios anatómicos en hojas jóvenes y fisiológicos en la raíz de plantas de frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) tolerante y susceptible a clorosis férrica que ocurren cuando éstas se someten a estrés de hierro para identificar la respuesta diferencial de las dos líneas en estas condiciones. Molecular analyses of bacteria associated with photosynthetic organisms are often confounded by coamplification of the chloroplastidial 16S rDNA with the targeted bacterial 16S rDNA. This major problem has hampered progress in the characterization of bacterial communities associated to photosynthetic organisms and has limited the full realization of the potential offered by the last generation of metagenomics approaches. A simple and inexpensive method is presented, based on ethanol and bleach treatments prior to extraction, to efficiently discard a great part of chloroplastidial DNA without affecting the characterization of bacterial communities through pyrosequencing.
