In this study we investigated the effects of the high endogenous proline level on water relations, gas exchange and antioxidant enzymatic activity in leaves of transgenic ?Swingle? citrumelo rootstocks transformed with the P5CSF129A gene coding for the key-enzyme for proline synthesis, under water deficit. Leaf total water, osmotic and pressure potentials, stomatal conductance, photosynthetic rates and xylem sapflowwere evaluated in non-transformed control and transgenic plants during water deficit treatment. ABSTRACT: Citrus seeds normally have low storability. Identifying an optimal fruit harvest time for production of high vigor seeds is important for nurseries; however, identifying this stage for Swingle citrumelo fruits has been based only on visual color examination, and research related to this parameter has been inconsistent. The main objective of this study was to evaluate a red-green-blue (RGB) color measurement system for successful identification of Swingle citrumelo fruits possessing seeds with maximum physiological potential and storability. Trifoliata hybrids rootstocks for 'Lane Late' navel orange in Spain Scientia Agricola

Carrizo citrange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb. × Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf.] and Cleopatra mandarin (C. reshni Hort. ex Tan.) are the most important rootstocks used in Spain, but they are problematic and it is necessary to search for new rootstocks with better all-round performance. The performance of 'Lane Late' navel orange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb] on ten rootstocks was determined in the South of the province of Alicante (Spain). [[abstract]]In order to evaluated the effects of different species of rootstocks on fruit production of ‘Murcott’ tangor. Scions of ‘Murcott’ tangor were grafted on one year old seedlings of eight species of rootstocks and planted in the Chia-Yi Agricultural Experiment Station and two sites at Gu-Keng, Yunlin County. Tree growth, yield and fruit quality were investigated at the sixth and seventh year after transplanting. Accumulated yields of healthy plants were high on rough lemon and ‘Rangpur’ lime, intermediate on trifoliate, ‘Swingle’ citrumelo and ‘Troyer’ citrange, low on sour orange and Sunki.
