Amoebic renal cyst: a case report BJID
Sharma,Anuradha; Chandel,U.K.; Gupta,M.L.; Sharma,Vijay; Sharma,R.K..
Entamoeba histolytica can infect any organ of the body, but only one case of renal involvement has been reported till now in the literature. We report a rare case of amoebic renal cyst in a 78-yearshowing favorable outcome with metronidazole treatment and therapeutic drainage.

Clinico-Radiographic Examination of Odontogenic Myxoma with Displacement of Unerupted Upper Third Molar: Review of the Literature International Journal of Morphology
Altug,Hasan Ayberk; Gulses,Aydin; Sencimen,Metin.
Odotogenic myxoma is a benign tumor which presents in 3% to 6% of all odontogenic tumors. According to the WHO classification, multiple radiolucent areas of varying size, separated by straight or curved bony septa with poorly defined borders are the radiologic characteristics of the condition. We report the case of maxillary odontogenic myxoma in a 21 year old man. The radiological feature of the current case was interesting, due to the size of the lesion and severe displacement of the upper third molar.

Cyst-motile stage relationship and molecular phylogeny of a new freshwater dinoflagellate Gymnodinium plasticum from Plastic Lake, Canada ArchiMer
Wang, Na; Luo, Zhaohe; Mertens, Kenneth; Mccarthy, Francine M. G.; Gu, Li; Gu, Haifeng.
The dinophyceaen genus Gymnodinium was established with the freshwater species G. fuscum as type. According to Thessen et al. (2012), there are 268 species, with the majority marine species. In recently published molecular phylogenies based on ribosomal DNA sequences, Gymnodinium is polyphyletic. Here, a new freshwater Gymnodinium species, G. plasticum, is described from Plastic Lake, Ontario, Canada. Two strains were established by incubating single cysts, and their morphology was examined with light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The cyst had a rounded epicyst and hypocyst with a wide cingulum and smooth surface. Vegetative cells were characterized by an elongated nucleus running vertically and a deep sulcal intrusion. The apical structure...

Detección de Malpighamoeba mellifcae (Protista: Amoebozoa) en Apis mellifera (Hymenoptera: Apidae)de Argentina Rev. Soc. Entomol. Argent.
Plischuk,Santiago; Lange,Carlos E..

Morphology, ultrastructure and molecular phylogeny of cyst-producing Caladoa arcachonensis gen. et sp. nov. (Peridiniales, Dinophyceae) from France and Indonesia ArchiMer
Luo, Zhaohe; Mertens, Kenneth; Nezan, Elisabeth; Gu, Li; Pospelova, Vera; Thoha, Hikmah; Gu, Haifeng.
The dinoflagellate order Peridiniales encompasses several well circumscribed families. However, the family level of some genera, such as Bysmatrum and Vulcanodinium, has remained elusive for many years. Four Peridinium-like strains were established from the Atlantic coast of France and North Sulawesi, Indonesia through cyst germination or isolation of single cells. The cyst-theca relationship was established on specimens from the French Atlantic. Their morphologies were examined using light, scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The cells were characterized by a much larger epitheca relative to the hypotheca, a large anterior sulcal (Sa) plate deeply intruding the epitheca and a small first anterior intercalary plate. The plate formula was...

Morphology, ultrastructure and molecular phylogeny of Wangodinium sinense gen. et sp. nov. (Gymnodiniales, Dinophyceae) and revisiting of Gymnodinium dorsalisulcum and Gymnodinium impudicum ArchiMer
Luo, Zhaohe; Hu, Zhangxi; Tang, Yingzhong; Mertens, Kenneth; Leaw, Chui Pin; Lim, Po Teen; Teng, Sing Tung; Wang, Lei; Gu, Haifeng.
The genus Gymnodinium includes many morphologically similar species, but molecular phylogenies show that it is polyphyletic. Eight strains of Gymnodinium impudicum, Gymnodinium dorsalisulcum and a novel Gymnodinium‐like species from Chinese and Malaysian waters and the Mediterranean Sea were established. All of these strains were examined with LM, SEM and TEM. SSU, LSU and internal transcribed spacers rDNA sequences were obtained. A new genus, Wangodinium, was erected to incorporate strains with a loop‐shaped apical structure complex (ASC) comprising two rows of amphiesmal vesicles, here referred to as a new type of ASC. The chloroplasts of Wangodinium sinense are enveloped by two membranes. Pigment analysis shows that peridinin is the main accessory...

Observations on possible life cycle stages of the dinoflagellates Dinophysis cf. acuminata, Dinophysis acuta and Dinophysis pavillardi ArchiMer
Berland, Brigitte R; Maestrini, Serge Y; Grzebyk, Daniel.
Some aspects of the life-cycle have been investigated in Dinophysis cf, acuminata, the dominant species of the genus along the French Atlantic coast, as well as in D, acuta; a few observations have also been made on the Mediterranean species D. pavillardi. Dinophysis cells occur in 2 clearly distinguished sizes. Small cells typically had a theca thinner than large cells, and cingular and sulcal lists were less developed. Both small and large cells were seen dividing, producing 1 to 4 round intracellular bodies. Some of these round bodies in turn contained many small flagellated cells which escaped through a pore and swam rapidly. Their behaviour after release, and how they might give rise to vegetative cells, has not been observed thus far; we do not...
