Contribution a l'usinage des materiaux composites ArchiMer
Guegan, P; Lemaitre, F; Hamann, J.
While machining is generally to be avoided in the fabrication of components with composite materials, nevertheless many parts require some machining, drilling or milling after moulding. Machining of these materials involves the risk of damage in the machined region. It is therefore important to study the possible sources of damage and to quantify their extent for different drilling and milling operations.

Data Report: Trace Element And Isotopic Composition of Interstitial Water and Sediments from the Woodlark Rise, ODP Leg 180 OceanDocs
Heinen De Carlo, E.; Lackschewitz, K.K.; Carmody, R..
Oxygen and strontium isotopes and Rb and Ba were determined in interstitial water (IW) collected from Sites 1109, 1115, and 1118 drilled on the Woodlark Rise during Ocean Drilling Program Leg 180. The trace element and mineralogical composition of the clay fraction of sediments isolated from the squeeze cakes corresponding to IW samples from Site 1109 was also determined.

Incorporating electrokinetic effects in the porochemoelastic inclined wellbore formulation and solution Anais da ABC (AABC)
Nguyen,Vinh X.; Abousleiman,Youname N..
The porochemoelectroelastic analytical models and solutions have been used to describe the response of chemically active and electrically charged saturated porous media such as clays, shales, and biological tissues. However, these attempts have been restricted to one-dimensional consolidation problems, which are very limited in practice and not general enough to serve as benchmark solutions for numerical validation. This work summarizes the general linear porochemoelectroelastic formulation and presents the solution of an inclined wellbore drilled in a fluid-saturated chemically active and ionized formation, such as shale, and subjected to a three-dimensional in-situ state of stress. The analytical solution to this geometry incorporates the coupled solid...

Lithostratigraphic Summary For Leg 175: Angola-Benguela Upwelling System OceanDocs
Anderson, L.; Maslin, M.A.; Jansen, F.; Lin, H.; Pufahl, P.K.; Pérez, M.; Brüchert, V.; Vidal, L..
During Ocean Drilling Program Leg 175, 40 holes were drilled at 13 sites, and 8003 m were recovered with the aim of reconstructing the late Neogene history of the Angola-Benguela upwelling system on the southwest African margin. This system is one of the great upwelling regions of the world and is characterized by organic-rich sediments that provide an excellent record of productivity back to the middle Miocene. Understanding the sedimentology and stratigraphy of these sediments will provide important new information on the paleoceanography of this region, including the complex role the ocean plays in global carbon cycling and climate change. This contribution summarizes the sedimentologic and stratigraphic data compiled on board the JOIDES Resolution...

Molecular Indicators of the Supply of Marine and Terrigenous Organic Matter to a Pleistocene Organic-Matter–Rich Layer in the Alboran Basin (Western Mediterranean Sea) OceanDocs
Rinna, J.; Hauschildt, M.; Rullkötter, J..
The organic matter in sediment series across two organic-matter–rich layers from Ocean Drilling Program Hole 977A drilled in the Alboran Basin of the Western Mediterranean Sea has been characterized by organic geochemical methods. Organic carbon contents reached more than 2% in the organic-matter–rich layer and was ~1% in the background sediment under and overlying it. Molecular compositions of the extractable bitumens in the organic-matter–rich layer for a wide range of compound groups are broadly similar to those of the background sediments. The organic matter in the organic-matter–rich layer is enriched in marine biomarkers, especially long-chain diols and keto-ols and particularly sterols. A higher supply of landderived material to the sediment during...

Moluscos bivalvos perforadores de rocas en la zona intermareal de la Provincia de Esmeraldas - Ecuador, 2002-2005 OceanDocs
Cruz, M..
Of the analysis of five rocky areas in the intertidal zone of the Esmeraldas province: Tachina, Balao, Súa-Atacames, Galera and Mompiche, from the limit of the high tide to the limit of the low tide, were founded nine (9) species of drilling bivalves molluscs, that belong to three families: Mytilidae, Petricolidae and Pholadidae. Petricola denticulata was the most abundant species in the Esmeraldas province and represents the 26.1% among all species, whiles the sites or stations that were observed the greater abundance of organisms were Balao and Súa-Atacames with 39.1% each one. The greater richness of species was observed in Súa-Atacames, having reprsented 50% of the total diversity. In Tachina station, drilling rock organism were not observed. The...
