En un estudio que se hizo sobre los tremátodos Digeneos de los pargos (Lutjanidae) se tuvo la oportunidad de examinar peces marinos de otras familias. Los tremátodos digeneos encontrados en estos últimos se describe y compara su distribución geográfica en el Mar Caribe. Se dan los ciclos de vida conocidos.

The assemblage of arthropods and helminths, present in sigmodontine rodents (Cricetidae) from a broad wetland area of the Río de la Plata, Argentina, was studied. A total of 250 sigmodontines were captured during a two-year sampling period: Scapteromys aquaticus and Oxymycterus rufus were the most abundant hosts, followed by Oligoryzomys nigripes, Akodon azarae, Oligoryzomys flavescens, and Deltamys kempi. There were 33102 parasites collected, corresponding with Rhopalopsyllidae fleas (Siphonaptera), Hoplopleuridae lice (Phtiraptera), Laelapidae and Macronyssidae mites, Ixodidae ticks, and Trombiculidae chiggers (Acari), the trematodes Echinostomidae, Microphallidae, and Dicrocoelidae, the flatworm Ciclophyllidea, the nematods Trichuridae, Spiruridae,...

The aim of this research was evaluate the productive performance, egg quality and the endoparasites presence on Carijo laying hens in Cage Free system, fed with two experimental diets, one of them supplemented with fresh banana leaf in natura. Were used 196 laying hens with twenty-four weeks of age, distributed in a completely randomized design with 14 boxes, two experimental diets and seven replicates, by treatment with fourteen birds per experimental unit. Communities of parasite metazoans in Piaractus brachypomus (Pisces, Serrasalmidae) in the lower Amazon River (Brazil). Repositório Alice

The aim of this study was to investigate the component community of parasite metazoans of Piaractus brachypomus in the lower Amazon River, northern Brazil. From 34 necropsied fish, 27,384 metazoan parasites were collected, such as Anacanthorus spathulatus, Mymarothecium viatorum and Notozothecium janauachensis (Monogenoidea); Spectatus spectatus and Contracaecum sp (Nematoda); Clinostomum marginatum and Dadaytrema oxycephala (Digenea); and Argulus carteri and Ergasilus sp. (Crustacea). The dominant species was S. spectatus followed by monogenoidean species, and there was aggregated dispersion of parasites, except for D. oxycephala and Contracaecum sp., which presented random dispersion. ABSTRACT This study investigated the parasitic fauna of Cichlasoma bimaculatum of a tributary from the Amazon River system, northern Brazil. The prevalence of infection was 94.6 % and, in total, 428 267 parasites, such as Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, Piscinoodinium pillulare (Protozoa), Gussevia arilla (Monogenoidea), Posthodiplostomum sp. (Digenea) and Procamallanus (Spirocamallanus) inopinatus (Nematoda) were collected. However, the dominance was mainly of I. multifiliis, while P. First study on communities of parasites in Triportheus rotundatus, a Characidae fish from the Amazon River system (Brazil). Repositório Alice

This study was the first investigation on the parasites of Triportheus rotundatus, a Characiformes fish from the Amazon, in Brazil. All the fish collected (100%) in a tributary from the Amazon River system were infected by one or more parasite species. The mean species richness of parasites was 4.9 ± 0.9, the Brillouin index was 0.39 ± 0.16, the evenness was 0.24 ± 0.09 and the Berger-Parker dominance was 0.81 ± 0.13. Fish parasite diversity in the Amambai river, State Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil Biological Sciences

This study aimed to describe the diversity of fish parasites in the Amambai River, in the Mato Grosso do Sul State, and generate information to facilitate studies of the biotic integrity of the region. During the period of September 2015 and July 2015, 48 specimens of 11 species of fish were analyzed for parasites. A total of 56.25% of the fish sampled from the Amambai River were infected with one or more metazoan species. Twenty-six crossbred dams of the F3 generation and twenty Cashmere dams were surveyed with regard to their productivity, hardiness and resilience. The endoparasite situation was recorded for both the dams and lambs of both breeding groups. Productivity data of both breeding groups included figures on reproduction and dressing percentage. Using a scoring key, the rate of claw growth of both breeding groups was recorded as a possibility of comparison.

The host specificity and population dynamics of <i>Anguillicola crassus</i> in a number of paratenic hosts were investigated. Various freshwater fish species were sampled monthly (March 1990 to March 1991) from the Kolenhaven (Albertcanal, Genk, Belgium) and examined for L<sub>3</sub>-larvae of <i>Anguillicola crassus</i>. Urbanization effects on the host/parasite relationship in fishes from tributary streams of Pirapó River, Paraná State: assessment of potential environmental bioindicators Biological Sciences

A parasitological study was conducted with 131 fishes belonging to the following species: Poecilia reticulata and Rhamdia quelen species. The aim of the study was to evaluate the use of fish endoparasites to determine the environmental quality of streams.
