This paper describes a simple, low cost and reliable DNA template preparation protocol for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using immature leaves from peanut seeds or leaves from field-grown plants. The technique may find wide utility in studies involving PCR-based molecular markers, rapid screening for transformants and gene cloning.

Basic study for the appropriate cultivation method of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) in Tokachi region. OAK

十勝地方におけるラッカセイ生産の可能性を模索するため、帯広畜産大学実験圃場でラッカセイ品種「千葉半立」、「ナカテユタカ」、および「おおまさり」の栽培を行った。栽植方法(直播、あるいは移植)、および栽植密度(標準植:5.1 株/ ㎡、あるいは密植:7.7 株/ ㎡)の組合せによる4 試験区を設け、2016 年5 月23 日にそれぞれの品種の栽培を開始した。茎葉の黄変期に収穫を行い、収量構成要素や子実収量の評価を行った。千葉半立とナカテユタカでは、子実収量に対する栽植方法と栽植密度の効果が認められた。両品種とも移植を行った試験区で直播を行った試験区に比べ収量が高かった。これは、移植を行うことで単位面積当たりの稔実粒数が増加することに起因する。また、両品種とも密植を行った試験区で標準植を行った試験区に比べ収量が高かった。千葉半立は半立ち性、ナカテユタカは立性の草型をもつため光競合を起こしにくく、十勝地方で栽培する場合には都府県の慣行法よりも栽植密度を高めることで土地利用効率が高まり、子実収量が改善されると考えられる。おおまさりでは、子実収量に対して栽植方法の効果のみが認められた。移植を行うことで直播を行った場合に比べ総稔実粒数や1000 粒重が高まり、子実収量が増加した。一方、おおまさりでは子実収量に対する栽植密度の効果が認められなかった。おおまさりは伏性の草型を持つため光競合が起こりやすく、十勝地方においても密植条件下では密度障害が生じ増収につながらないと考えられる。千葉半立とナカテユタカでは、移植・密植の処理組合せによる試験区で、おおまさりでは、移植・標準植、および移植・密植の処理組合せによる試験区でそれぞれ最も子実収量が高く、いずれも子実収量の全国平均(180g/...

The cytogenetic characterization of Arachis species is useful for assessing the genomes present in this genus, for establishing the relationship among their representatives and for understanding the variability in the available germplasm. In this study, we used fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to examine the distribution patterns of heterochromatin and rDNA genes in 12 Brazilian accessions of five species of the taxonomic section Arachis. Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) has an AB genome and is one of the most important oil crops in the world. The main constraints of crop management in Brazil are fungal diseases. Several species of the genus Arachis are resistant to pests and diseases. The objective of our experiments was to identify wild species belonging to the taxonomic section Arachis with either A or B (or " non-A" ) genomes that are resistant to early leaf spot (Cercospora arachidicola), late leaf spot (Cercosporidium personatum) and rust (Puccinia arachidis). Compatibility of Azospirillum brasilense and Pseudomonas fluorescens in growth promotion of groundnut ( Arachis hypogea L.) Anais da ABC (AABC)

ABSTRACT We attempted to study the compatibility among plant beneficial bacteria in the culture level by growing them near in the nutrient agar plates. Among all the bacteria tested, Rhizobium was found to inhibit the growth of other bacteria. From the compatible group of PGPR, we have selected one biofertilizer (Azospirillum brasilense strain TNAU) and one biocontrol agent (Pseudomonas fluorescens strain PF1) for further studies in the pot culture. We have also developed a bioformulation which is talc powder based, for individual bacteria and mixed culture. Development and Evaluation of a Fish Feed Mixer CIGR Journal

Abstract A Fish feed mixing machine was designed, developed and the effect of speed and retention time on the performance of the mixer was evaluated. The mixing system was tested using three fish feed ingredients; bone meal, groundnut cake and maize grain which was purchased from the market in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. The moisture content of the bought ingredients was determined to be 13.1%, 14.7% and 17.5% moisture content dry basis respectively. The mixer was tested using a feed component of three equal measures of 10 kg of ground corn (maize), milled groundnut cake and bone meal which were initially retained on 2 mm, 850 µm and 150 µm sieve respectively. Effects of in vitro triacontanol on growth, antioxidant enzymes, and photosynthetic characteristics in Arachis hypogaea L. Braz. J. Plant Physiol.

In vitro effects of triacontanol (TRIA) on antioxidant enzymes and photosynthetic characteristics were studied in Arachis hypogaea L. cultivars (M-13 and PBS24030). The in vitro impact of TRIA on multiplication potential was also evaluated, which was found to be best at 2.0 ml L-1 TRIA in combination with 6- Benzyl adenine (BA, 3 mg L-1) in both the groundnut cultivars. Rhizogenesis was observed in almost all the TRIA treated cultures in both the cultivars. Moreover, shoots failed to set roots, in the presence of BA. Growth and yield of groundnut, sesame and roselle in an Acacia senegal agroforestry system in North Kordofan, Sudan JARTS

A field experiment was conducted under rainfed conditions in western Sudan at El-Obeid Research Farm and Eldemokeya Forest Reserve, North Kordofan State, during the growing seasons 2004/05 and 2005/06. The main objective was to investigate the soil physical and chemical properties and yield of groundnut (Arachis hypogea), sesame (Sesamum indicum) and roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) of an Acacia senegal agroforestry system in comparison with the sole cropping system. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of substrate and preconditioning treatments on the acclimatization of in vitro plants of Arachis retusa. Plants were transferred to Plantmax or sand, and fertilized with Hoagland's nutrient solution. Plants maintained in sand, with or without fertilizer, showed the highest survival rates. In order to evaluate the influence of in vitro preconditioning treatments, stem segments were cultured on MS medium supplemented with different sucrose concentrations. The highest survival and developmental rates were observed in plants from two accessions cultured on MS supplemented with 1.5% and 3% sucrose. Flowering and fruit production were observed after five months.
