Cinetica do fosforo em tecidos de caprinos. Repositório Alice

O objetivo do trabalho foi determinar a cinetica do P em algns tecidos de caprinos submetidos a dietas com quantidade de P insuficiente, adequada e elevada. Foram utilizados nove caprinos machos castrados da raca Alpina, alojados em gaiolas individuais e alimentados por 29 dias com dietas compostas de feno e concentrado suplementado com 0,1 ou 2 g de P/dia na forma de fosfato bicalcico. No 22. dia os animais receberam injecao de 7,4 MBq de P na jugular esquerda. No 8. dia apos a aplicacao do tracador, os animais foram abatidos e coleraram-se amostras de figado, rim, coracao e musculo para determinacao da cinetica do P. Impact of the Training Program on Lipid Profile and Cardiac Health Biol. Res.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of training programs on serum lipid profile and myocardial oxidative stress. Male Wistar rats (2 mo-old) were divided into three groups (n=8): sedentary (S), loadless trained (T) and trained-overload 2% body weight (TL). T and TL were trained through swimming for 9 weeks. T and TL rats had increased myocardial lipoperoxide (TBA) and lipid hydroperoxide (HP), whereas HP was higher in TL than in T animals. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities were lowest in TL. Myocardial glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) was lower in TL than in T and S rats. TL decreased HDL-cholesterol and increased LDL-cholesterol. The European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) is an economically important fish native to the Mediterranean and Northern Atlantic. Its complex life cycle involves many migrations through temperature gradients that affect the energetic demands of swimming. Previous studies have shown large intraspecific variation in swimming performance and temperature tolerance, which could include deleterious and advantageous traits under the evolutionary pressure of climate change. Origin and Development of the Coronary Arteries International Journal of Morphology

The formation of the coronary vasculature is a fundamental event in heart development and involves a series of carefully regulated temporal events that include vasculogenesis and angiogenesis. This review focuses the knowledge concerning the formation of the coronary arteries available so far and some molecular mechanisms involved in this process. Understanding coronary embryogenesis is important for interventions regarding adult cardiovascular diseases as well as those necessary to correct heart congenital defects. The insight of the coronary artery development as a result of ingrowth changed the understanding of several congenital coronary artery variations and anomalies described in gross anatomy.

Study of Sinoatrial Nodal Artery Dominance in Brazilian Human Hearts International Journal of Morphology

Thirty hearts from adult individuals, 15 from male individuals and 15 female individuals, from the Anatomy Institute of Severino Sombra University were used. After a paramedian incision in the sternocostal joint, a careful dissection was performed in order to expose and identify the sinoatrial nodal artery (SAN), a right or left coronary artery branch. The domain was registered as right, if the right coronary branch irrigated the SAN. The same was listed for the left coronary artery. In addition, cases were both arteries irrigated SAN also were listed. Increasingly the use and convenience of electrical appliances in our daily lives are the cause of harmful effects caused by electromagnetic fields (EMF). The aim of this study was to research the effect of EMF on the ultrastructure of the heart in EMF exposed rats. In this study 45 male Sprague Dawley rats ranging in weight between 260 and 280 grams were used.
