¿Existe Alteración de los Mecanismos de Degradación del Colágeno de la Matriz Extracelular Manifestada en la Expresión de MMP2 y TIMP2 en Pacientes con Hernia Inguinal Primaria? International Journal of Morphology
Otras variables...

Polypropylene meshes coated with chitosan/polyethylene glycol for the reconstruction of the abdominal wall: an experimental study in rats Arq. Bras. Med. Vet. Zootec.
Rodrigues,D.F.; Mendes,F.F.; Melo,R.M.; Menezes,L.B.; Guimarães,L.L.B.; Silva,A.S.; Rammazzina Filho,W.A.; Moraes,A.M.; Paulo,N.M..
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to characterize the tissue reactions triggered by the polypropylene mesh coated with chitosan and polyethylene glycol film, and if it’s able to prevent the formation of peritoneal adhesions. Defects in the abdominal wall of rats were induced and polypropylene meshes coated with chitosan/polyethylene glycol (CPEG group, n= 12) and uncoated (PP control group, n= 12) were implanted. On the fourth and forty-fifth postoperative day the formation of adhesion and the tissue reaction to the biomaterial was evaluated through histological and histochemical analysis. The area (P= 0.01) and severity (P= 0.002) of the adhesion was significatively less in the CPEG group. On the fourth day the foreign body reaction was less intense in...

Reinforcement of the pelvic diaphragm using a purse-string suture in dogs: description of technique Arq. Bras. Med. Vet. Zootec.
Moraes,P.C.; Facin,A.C.; Rosa-Ballaben,N.M.; Zanetti,N.M.; Dias,L.G.G.G..
ABSTRACT Recurrence of perineal hernias is frequent, and is associated to poor identification of anatomical structures during surgery, inadequate suture placement, and failure of physical support of the pelvic diaphragm after surgical reconstruction. The objective of this work is to describe a novel surgical technique for reinforcement of the pelvic diaphragm after performing the internal obturator transposition technique in dogs with perineal hernia.

The Inferior Epigastric Artery: Anatomical Study and Clinical Significance International Journal of Morphology
Al-Talalwah,Waseem.
The inferior epigastric artery usually arises from the external iliac artery. It may arise from different origin. The aim of current study is to provide sufficient date of the inferior epigastric artery for clinician, radiologists, surgeons, orthopaedic surgeon, obstetricians and gynaecologists. The current study includes 171 dissected cadavers (92 male and 79 female) to investigate the origin and branch of the inferior epigastric artery in United Kingdom population (Caucasian) as well as in male and female. The inferior epigastric artery found to be a direct branch arising independently from the external iliac artery in 83.6 %. Inferior epigastric artery arises from common trunk of external iliac artery with the obturator artery or aberrant obturator...
