This paper describes the case of a horse treated in a Teaching Veterinary Hospital. The sutures of the flexor apparatus associated with cell therapy, the stem cell, provided a rapid response of repair compared to other cases treated in routine of the Hospital. The association of conventional treatments with the mononuclear fraction of bone marrow significantly contributed to the reduction of the hyperextension of the metatarsophalangeal joint. Ultrasound images showed rapid fill cell and decrease in inflammation.

El moho verde de los cítricos causado por Penicillium digitatum es la más importante enfermedad postcosecha en el mundo. Este estudio evaluó el efecto de nueve concentraciones de esporas en la germinación y crecimiento postcosecha de P. digitatum en naranjas. Todos los frutos fueron infectados cuando se inocularon con una solución de esporas a una concentración de 6x105 e/ml. El 50% de los frutos fueron infectados cuando se inocularon con 3x105 e/ml, solo algunos frutos mostraron síntomas. Los síntomas no aparecieron en frutos inoculados con 3x104 e/ml o menos. We present a new generalized model for the diagnosis and prediction of accidents among the Spanish workforce. Based on observational data of the accident rate in all Spanish companies over eleven years (7,519,732 accidents), we classified them in a new risk-injury contingency table (19×19). Through correspondence analysis, we obtained a structure composed of three axes whose combination identifies three separate risk and injury groups, which we used as a general Spanish pattern. The most likely or frequent relationships between the risk and injuries identified in the pattern facilitated the decision-making process in companies at an early stage of risk assessment. Drift of 2,4-D and dicamba applied to soybean at vegetative and reproductive growth stage Ciência Rural

ABSTRACT: The introduction of dicamba and 2,4-D-resistant soybean will increase the use of auxin herbicides for management of herbicide-resistant weeds, increasing risk of drift in non-target crops. The field experiment was conducted in 2016/17 to evaluate injury, growth, yield, germination and seeds vigor of soybean effects to simulated drift of 2,4-D and dicamba applied to soybean at the V3 and R2 growth stages. To simulate drift, 2,4-D was applied at 0; 5.16; 10.4; 20.8 e 41.5g ae ha-1 and dicamba at: 0; 3.7; 7.4; 14.9 e 29.8g ae ha-1. A aplicacao de herbicidas em pos-emergencia dirigida pode causar injurias as plantas de milho, quando estas sao atingidas por produtos nao totalmente seletivos. Como esses herbicidas sao basicamente bloqueados de processos metabolicos, surge a duvida de quais serao os efeitos dessas injurias na producao final de graos de milho. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar o efeito da fitotoxidade causada pela aplicacao de herbicidas na fase inicial e na pos-emergencia tardia da cultura e o seu efeito na producao de graos. Growth And Moulting Of Captive Panulirus Homarus Homarus In Kenya, Western Indian Ocean. OceanDocs

Panulirus homarus homarus is the most widely distributed among the three P. homarus subspecies and is the second most important spiny lobster in the Kenyan lobster fishery after P. ornatus. Growth and moulting of lobsters, held in concrete tanks with a flow-through seawater supply and at ambient temperatures, were monitored for 18 months (October, 2001 - March, 2003). Both moult increment and moulting frequency were inversely correlated with size. Mean moult increment ranged from 4mm in the 36-45 mm CL size class to 0.6 mm in the 86-95 mm CL size class. Ocorrência de Mirounga leonina Linnaeus (Pinnipedia, Phocidae) no extremo-sul do Brasil: agressão e patologias Zoologia

A male specimen of Mirounga leonina Linnaeus, 1758 age estimated betvveen 7-8 years old, collected at Santa Vitória do Palmar, Rio Grande do Sul State, soutiiernmost Brazil (32º44'S and 53º22'W) is presented. Ali the skeleton was recovered except the rostral region. It shows an advanced osteomyelitis in the lefl dentary, extending from the synfisis until the middle portion of the body; as well as Scheuermann disease at lumbar vertebrae. Such diseases could explain its presence at that locality, where rt was shot. The bullct was recovered from the rostrum, and might be responsible for death. This is the first vhlually complete skeleton of M. leonina recovered from Brazilian coast.

Strawberry fruit resistance to simulated handling Scientia Agricola

Harvest operations are currently the main source of mechanical injury of strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.). Experiments were designed to simulate conditions encountered during commercial handling. Individual fruits were subjected to impact or compression forces with similar energy to determine the sensitivity to mechanical injury. Bruise volume was used as the measurement of injury. Bruise severity increased as a function of impact energy for both impact types. However, dropped fruits had larger bruise volume than fruits submitted to pendulum impactor at the same energy level. Morphological investigations were conducted on four bodies of dogs who died due to severe clinical symptoms following a massive invasion of cardiac and pulmonary Dirofilaria. The subjects were monitored clinically and diagnosed serologically positive for the Heartworm disease. The necropsy examination of the cardiovascular system (right ventricle and pulmonary artery) revealed the presence of 25 adult parasites in one dog with length ranging between 8 and 33cm. Macroscopically, lesions consistently observed were represented by the right ventricular dilatation and the diffuse wall thickening of the pulmonary artery. 臺灣南部地區龍眼害蟲之發生與防治 Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute

[[abstract]]台灣南部龍眼主要產於台南縣南化鄉及高雄縣內門鄉及田寮鄉。民國85至90年調查發現腹鈎薊馬等18種為新登錄之龍眼害蟲,與前人調查之龍眼蟲類合計達59種,包括害蟲55種,害蟎2種及蝸牛2種。其中6種列為重要害蟲,在開花期(3~4月)以檬果毛管蚜 (Greenidea mangiferae Takashashi) 發生最多,為害花穗率達17.4~68.5%;果實發育期(5月中旬~8月上旬)以荔枝細蛾 (Conopomorpha sinensis Bradley) 危害最為嚴重,為害果率為11.2~22.3%;夏梢期(9月下旬~11月下旬)以龍眼木蝨 (Neophacopteron euphorine Yang) 為主,危害葉率為8.1~39.0%;休眠期(12月上旬~2月下旬)膠蟲 (Kerria lacca Kerr) 較普遍,以田寮鄉危害枝率為30.1~84.1%最嚴重;紅蜡介殼蟲 (Ceroplastes rubens Maskell) 為害葉率6.9~15.7%;黑翅土白蟻 (Odontotermes formosanus Shiraki) 危害株率為16~40%。防治試驗結果:90%納乃得可濕性粉劑1,000倍防治龍眼木蝨效果最佳;50%芬殺松乳劑1,000倍防治荔枝細蛾效果最好;3%丁基加保扶粒劑及5%大福松粒劑防治膠蟲效果良好;防治黑翅土白蟻則灌注40.8%毒絲本乳劑1,000倍效果較為良好。
