The objective of this study was to use oyster as biofilter to improve the quality of effluent from shrimp farming and to assess its growth performance and body composition. It was distributed 1,080 oysters into lanterns in fiberglass tanks (170 L) in a completely randomized design with three treatments (0, 60 and 120 oysters) and six replicates. It was used the effluent from the sedimentation tank. It was measured weekly: temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen and pH, and it was analyzed ammonia-N, nitrite-N, nitrate-N, orthophosphate-P, suspended solids and chlorophyll-α of the input effluent. Des systèmes intégrés multi-trophiques pour une aquaculture durable ArchiMer

Within the SEACASE European project on sustainable extensive and semi-intensive aquaculture in Southern Europe (SEACASE), an information day on integrated multi-trophic aquaculture systems (IMTA) has been organized by Ifremer in Rochefort sur Mer, with the participation of other French partners of the project. After presenting the concept of IMTA, modern polyculture, the contents of the European research project SEACASE, and recent research carried out also were exposed. The interest of these systems and their implementation in future years to develop sustainable aquaculture has been discussed in a debate between the various participants.

Trichostrongylids nematodes are capilliform worms that parasitize the gastrointestinal tract of ruminants that frequently cause serious injuries such as severe gastroenteritis and acute anemia. Sheep breeds are highly susceptible to these parasites, including adult animals as well. In sheep herds, this parasitic disease is traditionally controlled through the use of antihelminthics; however, some possible auxiliary methods of control have been suggested, and among them is the adoption of the integration livestock?forest system.
