Ce papier décrit deux types de modèles alternatifs pour la détection de QTL dans les populations animales : un modèle hétéroscédastique d’une part, et des modèles correspondants à différentes hypothèses sur la distribution de l’effet de substitution du QTL pour chaque mâle : un nombre fixe et limité d’allèles ou au contraire un nombre infini d’allèles. Les puissances des différents tests construits avec ces hypothèses sont calculées dans différentes situations. L’estimation de la variance génétique liée au QTL est donnée dans certaines situations. Background: The first high quality draft of the grape genome sequence has just been published. This is a critical step in accessing all the genes of this species and increases the chances of exploiting the natural genetic diversity through association genetics. However, our basic knowledge of the extent of allelic variation within the species is still not sufficient. Towards this goal, we constructed nested genetic core collections (G-cores) to capture the simple sequence repeat (SSR) diversity of the grape cultivated compartment (Vitis vinifera L. subsp. sativa) from the world's largest germplasm collection (Domaine de Vassal, INRA Herault, France), containing 2262 unique genotypes. BACKGROUND: Since 2001, the use of more and more dense maps has made researchers aware that combining linkage and linkage disequilibrium enhances the feasibility of fine-mapping genes of interest. So, various method types have been derived to include concepts of population genetics in the analyses. Estimating effective population size from linkage disequilibrium: severe bias in small samples Inra

Effective population size (Ne) is a central concept in evolutionary biology and conservation genetics. It predicts rates of loss of neutral genetic variation, .xation of deleterious and favourable alleles, and the increase of inbreeding experienced by a population. A method exists for the estimation of Ne from the observed linkage disequilibrium between unlinked loci in a population sample. While an increasing number of studies have applied this method in natural and managed populations, its reliability has not yet been evaluated.
