Modelos matemáticos e simuladores têm sido desenvolvidos para prever a lixiviação de agrotóxicos em solos, permitindo grande economia de tempo e recursos financeiros, além de permitir análises de risco com maior representatividade e confiabilidade. O Brasil ainda não faz uso dessas ferramentas no processo de avaliação de risco e classificação ambiental dos agrotóxicos. Estas ferramentas não são utilizadas pelas autoridades nacionais por não estarem adaptadas às condições brasileiras. A laboratory experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of water soluble plant extracts on soil acidity. The plant materials were: black oat, oil seed radish, white and blue lupin, gray and dwarf mucuna, Crotalaria spectabilis and C. breviflora, millet, pigeon pea, star grass, mato grosso grass, coffee leaves, sugar cane leaves, rice straw, and wheat straw. Plant extracts were added on soil surface in a PVC soil column at a rate of 1.0 ml min-1. Both soil and drainage water were analyzed for pH, Ca, Al, and K. Com o objetivo de estudar a atividade do herbicida acetochlor em Argissolo Vermelho submetido à semeadura direta e ao preparo convencional, foram conduzidos experimentos no campo e em laboratório. O herbicida apresentou menor controle das plantas daninhas na semeadura direta do que sob preparo convencional. A redução de matéria seca de trigo na amostra de solo coletada na profundidade de 16-19 cm foi superior sob semeadura direta, indicando maior potencial de lixiviação do herbicida neste sistema de preparo. Atrazine displacement was studied in a soil profile as a function of water movement and time after herbicide application, taking into account possible influence of preferential flow on leaching. The experiment consisted of two 7 x 7m plots of a dark red latosol (Kanduidalfic Eutrudox), located at Piracicaba, SP, Brazil (22º 43'S and 47º 25'W), 250km inside continent, at an altitude of 580m. In this work, it was described the preparation and the characterization of a solid acid catalyst obtained by the mixture of Cr/Al oxides (CRAL). The catalyst was tested in the transesterification reaction of babassu oil with 5% of free fatty acid (FFA). The results of textural and acidity characteristics of CRAL were: area (56 m2 g-1), pore size (7.0 μm), total acidity (182.28 μmol g-1), wherein Brönsted sites are the most active. A simple, rapid, and quantitative bioassay method was compared to a gas chromotography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) procedure for the analysis of ametryn in surface and groundwater. This method was based on the activity of ametryn in inhibiting the growth of the primary root and shoot of germinating lettuce, Lactuca sativa L. seed. The procedure was sensitive to 0.01 ug/l and was applicable from this concentration up to 0.6 ug/l. Initial surface sterilization of the seed selection of pregerminated seed of certain root lengths, and special equipment are not necessary. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a dinâmica de nutrientes na solução do solo após a aplicação, via fertirrigação, de nitrogênio, fósforo e potássio a laranjeiras. O experimento foi realizado entre setembro de 2007 e outubro de 2009, em pomares de laranjeiras 'Valência' e 'Hamlin', enxertadas sobre citrumeleiro 'Swingle'. Foram avaliadas cinco doses de N, P2O5 e K2O (0, 25, 50, 100 e 200% da dose recomendada). Study on oil and plant N dynamics as affected by fertilization and intercropping with a legume, in the central Amazon (Brasil). Soil samples up to 4 m depth were taken under guarana and in the middle between the trees at the end of the rainy and the end of the dry season. The results indicate large risks of nitrate leaching and a lack of available N at the end of the rainy season. The tree was able to use N from the subsoil and between the trees. The electrical conductivity test has been used to evaluate seed vigour in many species, especially legumes, such as peas, beans and soybeans. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of temperature and storage period on the results of the electrical conductivity test and the mineral composition of the imbibition solution of bean seeds (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Three seed lots of the cultivar IAPAR - 81 and cultivar IPR - TIZIU were stored at 10, 25 and 25-10º C (six months at 10º C and six months at 25º C) The following evaluations were made every three months for a year: seed water content, germination and vigour (accelerated ageing and electrical conductivity) and the potassium, calcium and magnesium contents of the imbibition solution....
