Cloning of an octopamine/tyramine receptor and plasticity of its expression as a function of adult sexual maturation in the male moth Agrotis ipsilon Inra

In the male moth Agrotis ipsilon behavioural response and antennal lobe (AL) neuron sensitivity to the female-produced sex pheromone increase with age and juvenile hormone (JH) level. We recently showed that the neuromodulator, octopamine (OA), interacts with JH in this age-dependent olfactory plasticity. To further elucidate its role, we cloned a full cDNA encoding a protein that presents biochemical features essential to OA/tyramine receptor (AipsOAR/TAR) function. The AipsOAR/TAR transcript was detected predominantly in the antennae, the brain and, more specifically, in ALs where its expression level varied concomitantly with age. Estimation et évolution comparée de l’assimilation nette de couverts de maïs (Zea mays L.), tournesol (Helianthus annuus L.) et soja (Glycine max (L.) Merrill), au cours de leurs cycles de développement Inra

A partir des quantités de glucose nécessaires à la biosynthèse des glucides, lipides et composés azotés (PENNING DE VRIES, 1975), nous avons estimé à divers stades de développement l’assimilation nette de plusieurs cultivars de maïs, tournesol et soja placés au champ dans de très bonnes conditions culturales, et dans un même environnement climatique (région de Toulouse). Pendant la phase végétative, l’assimilation nette du couvert de tournesol a été supérieure à celle du couvert de maïs, puis elle a fortement diminué après la floraison du tournesol, tandis qu’elle se maintenait chez le maïs à un niveau élevé jusqu’à la maturité. Des comportements comparables apparaissent si l’on calcule l’assimilation nette moyenne par unité de surface foliaire....

Stimulation of the grape berry expansion by ethylene and effects on related gene transcripts, over the ripening phase Inra

Grape is considered as a non-climacteric fruit, the maturation of which is independent of ethylene. However, previous work had shown that ethylene is capable of affecting the physiological processes during maturation of grape berries. Experiments were designed to screen the gene pool affected by ethylene at the ripening inception in Cabernet Sauvignon berries. The results showed that only 73 of 14 562 genes of microarray slides were significantly modulated by a 24-h ethylene treatment (4 mu l l(-1)), performed 8 weeks after flowering.
