Allocation of New Construction Land Based on Land Competitiveness Evaluation AgEcon

Connotation of land competitiveness is expatiated from both the narrow sense and broad sense. Evaluation index system of land competitiveness is established according to the 2008 China Statistical Yearbook and 2008 China Land Resources Statistical Yearbook. Efficiency Coefficient Method and Principal Component Analysis Method are used to evaluate the land competitiveness of 31 provincial units in China. Result shows that in the year 2007, land competitiveness gradually decreases from southeast to northwest. The land competitiveness and GDP per unit land have significant negative correlation. The rank of approved new construction land has low positive correlation with the rank of land competitiveness in China. This indicates that there is little correlation...

An electronic tongue taste evaluation: identification of goat milk adulteration with bovine milk IPB - Escola Superior Agrária

An electronic tongue with 36 cross-sensibility sensors was built allowing a successful recognition of the five basic taste standards, showing high sensibility to acid, salty and umami taste substances and lower performance to bitter and sweet tastes. The taste recognition capability was afterwards tested in the detection of goat milk adulteration with bovine milk, which is a problem for the dairy industry. This new methodology is an alternative to the classical analyticalmethods used to detect caprine milk adulterations with bovine milk, being a simpler, faster and economical procedure. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar a análise de agrupamento de dados de expressão gênica, conforme realizada no escopo da ?Rede Genômica Animal?. Na seção 2, são apresentados conceitos básicos sobre análises de agrupamento. Em particular, os algoritmos de agrupamento utilizados nessas análises compreendem aqueles mais conhecidos, como k-means, SOM e agrupamento hierárquico. A plataforma de análise escolhida para realização das análises de agrupamento na ?Rede Genômica Animal? é o ambiente de análise estatística R (R DEVELOPMENT CORE TEAM, 2010) e o projeto Bioconductor (GENTLEMAN et al., 2004). Assim, na seção 3 é apresentado um exemplo completo de análise de agrupamento e seu respectivo script R.

Este trabalho teve os objetivos de: comparar os valores da interacao genotipo-ambiente (GA) obtidos com o uso do modelo dos efeitos principais aditivos e interacao multiplicativa (AMMI) e na analise da regressao linear (RL); comparar a estabilidade de producao de genotipos de batata (Solanum tuberosum L.). Dez genotipos foram avaliados em 34 ambientes (combinacoes de local, periodo de cultivo e ano) no Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, em 1994 e 1995. A soma dos quadrados (SQ) das regressoes explicou somente 19,5% da SQ da interacao GA, ao passo que o primeiro componente (CP1) da analise dos componentes principais explicou 44,6%. Agricultural management with chemicals may contaminate the soil with heavy metals. The objective of this study was to apply Principal Component Analysis and geoprocessing techniques to identify the origin of the metals Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn, Ni, Pb, Cr and Cd as potential contaminants of agricultural soils. The study was developed in an area of vineyard cultivation in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. Soil samples were collected and GPS located under different uses and coverings. Different pathways act synergistically to participate in many biological processes. Thus, the purpose of our study was to extract dysregulated pathways to investigate the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer (CRC) based on the functional dependency among pathways. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) information and pathway data were retrieved from STRING and Reactome databases, respectively. Fruit of the lychee cv. Bengal are approximately 50% peel and seeds, which are discarded. These by-products have antioxidant compounds which are capable of blocking the harmful effects of free radicals in the body. Bioactive compounds (ascorbic acid, beta-carotene, lycopene and phenols) and antioxidant activity were evaluated in different extracts, both fresh and dried at 45 °C, of the skin, pulp and seeds of the lychee, which were subjected to principal component analysis to clarify which of the compounds are responsible for this activity. The objective of this work was to develop an alternative methodology to study and characterize the phosphate crystalline properties, directly associated with solubility and plant availability, in biochar from swine bones. Some phosphate symmetry properties of pyrolyzed swine bones were established, using solid state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, principal component analysis, and multivariate curve resolution analysis, on four pyrolyzed samples at different carbonization intensities. Chemometrics applied to the incorporation of omega-3 in tilapia fillet feed flaxseed flour Ciênc. Tecnol. Aliment.

This study evaluated the effect of adding flaxseed flour to the diet of Nile tilapia on the fatty acid composition of fillets using chemometrics. A traditional and an experimental diet containing flaxseed flour were used to feed the fish for 60 days. An increase of 18:3 n-3 and 22:6 n-3 and a decrease of 18:2 n-6 were observed in the tilapia fillets fed the experimental diet. There was a reduction in the n-6:n-3 ratio. A period of 45 days of incorporation caused a significant change in tilapia chemical composition. Principal Component Analysis showed that the time periods of 45 and 60 days positively contributed to the total content of n-3, LNA, and DHA, highlighting the effect of omega-3 incorporation in the treatment containing flaxseed flour.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi desenvolver e propor um procedimento para a estratificação de florestas de clones de eucalipto não desbastados, para a classificação de sua capacidade produtiva. Utilizaram-se dados provenientes de 70 clones, distribuídos em 5.020 parcelas permanentes de inventários florestais contínuos, com pelo menos três medições, de periodicidade anual, em cada clone. Para todos os clones, foi ajustado o modelo de Schumacher para as variáveis: área basal; altura dominante; diâmetro médio; e volume comercial, com casca. The objective of the paper is to classify the labour markets of the EU member states on the basis of selected employment and unemployment indicators. In order to achieve the study target, the adequate multivariate exploration procedures have been chosen. Coliform density in oyster culture waters and its relationship with environmental factors PAB

The objective of this work was to evaluate the total and thermotolerant coliform densities in the oyster culture water of Cananeia, SP, Brazil, correlating these densities with environmental variables and tidal variations. Superficial water samples were collected in two tide conditions (spring and neap) from three areas of Cananéia municipality (Mandira, Itapitangui and Cooperostra). The three studied areas showed good conditions for the culture regarding coliform densities. The two tidal conditions differed significantly as to total coliform concentration; however, the same procedure was not performed for thermotolerant coliforms. Abstract Fruits and vegetables (F and V) are valuable for their micronutrients, but many F and V in diverse growth areas have not been scientifically validated for these components. The nutraceutical characteristics of the pulp of eight citrus fruits grown in Pakistan were, therefore, investigated. Expectedly, the fruits differed in moisture (86.9-88.9%), ash (0.37-0.53%), pH (2.9-5.8), total soluble solids (8.1-13.7 °Brix), titratable acidity (7.9-13.1%), total sugars (5.1-8.8%), reducing sugars (2.8-4.3%), and non-reducing sugars (0.3-0.5%) contents.
