Association between griffing's diallel and the adaptability and stability analyses of Eberhart and Russel. Repositório Alice

The objective of the present work was to provide a methodology to study the inheritance of adptability and stability through the breakdown of Eberhart and Russel regression coeficients and regression deviations in effects due to the mean and additive genetic effects (g and g) as well dominance effects (s) of Griffing methodology, when the diallel is conducted in several environments. It was concluded that the adaptability and stability parameters are determined in the same manner as are genetic effects. So an F1 cross inherits half the general combining ability (GCA) mean effect from each parent, while the effects due to specific combinig ability (SCA) are subjecterd to the same consideration relative to S i e, they are dependent on specific combinations.

The grass family (Poaceae) is unusually well known taxonomically, with over 10,000 described species. These are characterized and classified according to a variety of morphological characters, particular those of the inflorescence and the spikelet but also a wealth of micromorphological and moleculary characters. Much data on the family is accessible electronically. Available phylogenies have identified 12 major lineages that are classified as subfamilies; within these subfamilies, especially for subfamily Panicoideae, the phylogeny is becoming increasingly clear. Breeding potential of single, double and multiple crosses in common bean. Repositório Alice

This common bean study was carried out to improve the understanding of the several strategies that can be used to obtain segregant populations in self-pollinating plant breeding programs. Eight inbred lines were crossed in a pyramidal form, and four single, two double and one multiple hybrid were obtained. The potential of the different hybrids was investigated based on the performance of the F2 and F2 plus F3 segregant populations. The potential for obtaining superior inbred lines was estimated by (m + a), wich in the average of the F inbred lines, and by the probability of a given population producing inbred lines that outperform the yield of the Pérola cultivar by 20%. In Uruguay, reforestations with Eucalyptus sp. is of fundamental importance to supply paper, pulp, and wood production. This study investigates genetic, productivity, stability, and adaptability parameters in the selection of Eucalypts grandis x Eucalyptus globulus full-sib hybrid clones. The study was conducted in a clonal test, repeated in two different soils types, in Rio Negro State, Uruguay. The population was characterized phenotypically for diameter at breast height (dbh) and genotyped for SNP markers (EuCHIP60K chip). In Brazil, eucalyptus breeding programs for cellulose production has used two species, Eucalyptus grandis and Eucalyptus urophylla. Nevertheless, it would be useful to introgress alleles from other species to improve wood quality and volume. The objective of this research was to evaluate the hybrid potential of elite clones of E. grandis and E. urophylla from the Aracruz Celulose Company S. A. with Eucalyptus globulus clones. Intrapopulation recurrent selection (IRS) has proven to be a promising breeding method in eucalyptus, mainly through being easier to carry out when compared to reciprocal recurrent selection (RRS). However, the recombination strategies in IRS that have not yet been compared. Thus, the purpose of this study was to verify the efficiency of different recombination methods in IRS. To do so, computer simulation was used considering different heritabilities (0.1, 0.5, 1.0), different initial allelic frequencies (0.2, 0.8) and allelic interactions without dominance and with complete dominance. This work aimed to study the effective population size and genetic gain in a population of robusta coffee (Coffea canephora Pierre) and verify the possibility of using recurrent selection. The experiment comprised 25 treatments, consisting of 21 C. canephora progenies and four C. arabica (cultivars) grown in Brazil. The experimental design was a 5x5 quadruple balanced lattice, with 24 replications, with one plant per plot. Six harvests were performed in each plant. Statistical analysis was carried out using the mixed model methodology. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar os coeficientes de repetibilidade para produção de fruto e de albúmem sólido em coqueiro (cocos nucifera) pelos métodos estatísticos da análise de variância (ANOVA), componentes principais (covariância e correlação) e análise estrutural (covariância). Detectou-se variabilidade significativa entre os híbridos em relação à produção de frutos e de albúmen sólido. Today, triploidy is the most common method used to genetically improve marine bivalve aquaculture production. In the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas, triploidy affects many traits. The most proeminent one is reproductive effort, which is greatly reduced compared to diploids. The combined effects of physiological trade-offs between survival, growth and reproduction together with the reduction of reproductive effort in triploids explains the global enhancement of yield observed. This article aimed to study the genetic control of some flowers and pod set of common bean and to verify if its estimate varies with environmental conditions and gene pool. A complete diallel was used among six lines, but no reciprocal ones. The treatments were evaluated in three harvests/generations - F2, F3, and F4 - in 2015/2016, in a randomized complete block design with four replications. The plot consisted of 3 lines with 4 m.
