The use of wild oat races in artificial hybridization with cultivated oat (Avena sativa L.) has been used as a way of increasing the variability. This work aimed to identify the variability for plant height and flowering date of groups of cultivated oat genotypes, wild introduction of A. fatua L. and segregating populations of natural crosses between A. sativa and A. fatua. Wide genetic variability was observed for both traits in the groups and between them. The wild group of A. fatua L. showed high plants with early maturity, but in the segregating group there was reduced plant height and early maturity. The wild introductions of A. fatua L. O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar os tipos principais de ações gênicas responsáveis pela expressão fenotípica de alguns caracteres de qualidade da vagem, em cruzamento de feijão-vagem e feijão-comum. Foram avaliadas duas populações segregantes (F2 e F2:3), além das linhagens parentais. Como genitora feminina, utilizou-se a cultivar de feijão-vagem Conquista Rasteiro e, como genitora masculina, a linhagem de feijão-comum H126. Foram avaliados: comprimento da vagem, largura entre as suturas, largura das valvas, formato da vagem e teor de fibra da vagem . ABSTRACT Developing superior lines based on a simultaneous response from many traits of agronomic importance is a fundamental strategy to expand papaya cultivar supply, mainly the much-needed cultivars belonging to group Formosa. Our goal was to associate the pedigree method with REML/Blup procedure to select plants of progenies F2:3 with superior agronomic performance. The variance components and genetic parameters were estimated using REML approach, and the genetic values were predicted using Blup methodology. The combined selection was performed using the IG2 selection index based on weights associated with agronomic values to indicate the best progenies and lines. Genetic effects for controlling stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici) resistance in wheat through joint segregation analysis Agronomy

Mixed inheritance analysis using joint segregation analysis (JSA) for stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici) resistance was carried out in six basic populations (P1, F1, P2, BC1, BC2 and F2) of four wheat crosses (Hashim-08 × LU-26, Farid-06 × Shafaq, Parula × Blue Silver, TD-1 × D-97603) during crop season 2009 to 2012. Genes controlling stripe rust resistance were assessed by using area under disease progress curve (AUDPC).
