Efficiency of water use in sunflower grown in hydroponic system under saline stress REA

In order to identify alternatives for the use of saline water in agricultural production, the effects of the use of brackish water in the preparation of the nutrient solution for the cultivation of sunflower (cv. EMBRAPA 122-V2000) were studied in hydroponic system on consumption and efficiency of water use for the production of achenes and biomass. A completely randomized design was used, analyzed in a 5x2 factorial scheme with three replications. The factors studied were five levels of salinity of nutrient solution (1.7 - control; 4.3; 6.0; 9.0; and 11.5dS m-1) and two plant densities - one or two plants per vessel. ABSTRACT In intensive hydroponic systems, such vertical and pyramidal systems, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) and integrated (IPAR) may be intercepted by the containers and the leaf area of the plants grown in the upper strata, decreasing fruit yields and quality. The objective of this study was to evaluate the behavior of PAR and IPAR at different planting heights and the effect of geographic orientation and fruit yield and quality of strawberry produced in stair-like containers. Potencial osmótico en la absorción nutrimental y calidad de fruto en chile manzano (Capsicum pubescens R. y P.). Colegio de Postgraduados

Con el objeto de estudiar la absorción nutrimental y determinar el potencial osmótico (PO) de la solución nutritiva, óptimo para incrementar la calidad de fruto de chile manzano se desarrolló un experimento factorial en condiciones de hidroponía. Se evaluaron 5 niveles de PO: -0.036, -0.054, -0.072, -0.09 y -0.108 MPa, y dos variedades: Puebla y Zongolica. Se evaluó la concentración de macro y micronutrimentos en la planta, además de algunos aspectos de calidad del fruto como: peso medio del fruto, grosor del pericarpio en la parte del hombro del fruto, firmeza, sólidos solubles totales, ácido ascórbico y acidez titulable. Production of pre-basic potato seed by polyvinyl chloride PVC: articulate gutters hydroponic system BABT

The development of more efficient and productive systems for pre-basic seed potato production would improve the quality of the propagative material used by the potato growers, directly affecting the crop yields. A two-year experiment was carried out to evaluate the potato pre-basic seed production by two types of hydroponic systems (fibrocement tiles and articulated PVC gutters), two cultivars (`Baronesa` and `Eliza`) and two types of propagative material (plants coming from in vitro culture and minitubers). The PVC gutters system was highly efficient. When using minitubers, this system reached multiplication rates up to 74 tubers per plant. Minitubers were more productive than in vitro plants, independent of cultivar and hydroponic system utilized.
