El efecto de la preocupacion por la salud, el interes por la gastronomia y por la actividad social sobre la intensidad de consumo de vino de calidad AgEcon
Martinez, Laura Martinez-Carrasco; Molla-Bauza, Margarita Brugarolas; Gomis, Francisco Jose Del Campo; Poveda, Africa Martinez.

Japanese consumer preferences for additive-free wine labeling OAK
Kubota, Satoko; Sawano, Hirotsugu; Kono, Hiroichi.
Consumers have recently become more concerned about food additives and food safety. Since its first meeting on September 17, 2003, the Risk Communication Expert Committee has studied and discussed the ideal methods to communicate risk related to food safety issues in response to a Food Safety Commission request. However, there are only a few case studies that actually apply to risk communications. This study aims to analyze consumer preferences for antioxidant-free wine and suggest a tool for risk communications. The study uses a two-stage method: in the first, the analysis identified different types of consumers according to their views of antioxidant-free labels using structural equation model (SEM) analysis; the second stage incorporated the consumer...

Perceived quality in fresh peaches: an approach through structural equation modeling Ciencia e Investigación Agraria
Mora,Marcos; Espinoza,Jacqueline; Schnettler,Berta; Echeverría,Gemma; Predieri,Stefano; Infante,Rodrigo.
The quality requirements that consumers consider in their decision to purchase fresh fruit have garnered a great deal of attention from the actors in the fresh fruit productivity chain. This study seeks to identify attributes that could explain how a consumer of fresh peaches perceives quality. The focus on the peach was because of the limited knowledge of the signs of quality that the consumer is seeking in this fruit. As a result, the objective was to produce a model that explains the perception of the quality of fresh peaches by Spanish consumers. A theoretical model was created that explains quality using a set of intrinsic and extrinsic attributes. The information was from a survey of closed questions administered in person to a non-probabilistic...

Spillover Effects of SBP and NSLP on Academic Performance AgEcon
Capogrossi, Kristen; You, Wen.
The School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) are two federally assisted school meal programs that currently serve over 31.7 million children each day. Most of the existing literature examines the nutritional quality of school meals with a handful studying the impacts on child weight. A couple of studies also examine whether SBP has impacts on academic performance, and, to our knowledge, no studies examine the direct or indirect effects of NSLP participation on performance. Using full-information maximum likelihood, we simultaneously estimate the child weight and academic performance production functions along with child choice equations and program participation equations to examine potential spillover effects of SBP and NSLP...
