Abstract ? The objective of this work was to simulate maize leaf development in climate change scenarios at Santa Maria, RS, Brazil, considering symmetric and asymmetric increases in air temperature. The model of Wang & Engel for leaf appearance rate (LAR), with genotype-specific coefficients for the maize variety BRS Missões, was used to simulate tip and expanded leaf accumulated number from emergence to flag leaf appearance and expansion, for nine emergence dates from August 15 to April 15. Prediction model for phenology of grapevine cultivars with hot water treatment. Repositório Alice

The objective of this work was to prepare a prediction model for the phenology of grapevine cultivars (Bordô, Cabernet Sauvignon, Moscato Embrapa, Paulsen 1103, SO4, and IAC 572) using hot water treatment. The heat treatment with hot water consisted of combinations of three temperatures (50, 53, and 55°C) and three time periods (30, 45, and 60 min), with or without previous hydration for 30 min. After the treatments, the cuttings were planted in the field and their phenological development was evaluated during two months. The six studied cultivars presented different responses to the effects of the factors temperature and time, but did not differ significantly regarding hydration. Producao de frutos de quatro cultivares e tres clones de goiabeira (Psidium guajava L.) em Porto Lucena, RS. Repositório Alice

Foi avaliada a producao de frutos no segundo e terceiro ano de plantio de quatro cultivares (Riverside Vermelha, Brune Vermelha, IAC-4, Pirassununga Vermelha) e tres clones (RBS-1, RBS-2, Patillo) de goiabeira em Porto Lucena, RS. Foram estudados o peso e numero de frutos por hectare, peso medio do fruto e o crescimento vegetativo das plantas. Os resultados obtido mostraram que a producao em peso e numero de frutos no terceiro ano de plantio foi superior a do segundo ano, ao contrario do peso medio dos frutos. A 'Pirassununga Vermelha' apresentou o maior peso e numero de frutos por hectare, a 'RBS-1' teve os frutos de maior peso medio. A 'Pirassununga Vermelha' e a Riverside vermelha' destacaram-se como as mais produtivas, e esta ultima tambem pelo peso...

Despite producing viable seeds, production of platanus seedlings usually occurs through vegetative propagation; cuttings are the best and most efficient source for obtaining seedlings. The vegetative and root development of the species of Brazilian orchids Cattleya intermedia (John Lindley) and Miltonia clowesii (John Lindley) using different substrates and pyroligneous extract were assessed. Seedlings from in vitro propagation were transferred to vessels with: T1 - Pinus bark (Pi), coconut fibers (Co) and charred peel of rice (Cr); T2 – PiCoCr and vegetal charcoal (Ch), T3 – PiCoCrCh with the charcoal treated with pyroligneous extract (PE); T4 - CoCrChEP and T5 - CoCrCh. The materials used in substrates were placed in the same ratio.
