A comparison of Lepidocyclina ferreroi (Provale, 1909) and Lepidocyclina multilobata (Gerth, 1939) Naturalis
O'Herne, L..
Foraminiferal collections from Java and Borneo stored in the Netherlands National Museum of Geology and Mineralogy in Leiden enables to study the range of variation in Lepidocyclina ferreroi and L. multilobata. Taken separately many features considered typical of L. multilobata and L. ferreroi are insufficient to identify the specimens. When typically developed both species are highly characteristic and easily distinguished. Transitional forms however cannot be classified with certainty. Possibly L. multilobata has evolved from L. ferreroi but too little is known about the ages of the two species, especially of L. multilobata. L. crucifera is probably a form of L. ferreroi with four rays distinguished by the development of more than one tubercle on each...

A craniometric comparison of Holocene populations of Myotis mystacinus (Kuhl, 1817) and M. brandtii (Eversmann, 1845) (Chiroptera, Mammalia) Naturalis
Rybář, P..
This paper presents the results of an analysis of about four hundred skulls of Myotis mystacinus and M. brandtii of the Holocene age from the Záskočie Cave (Central Slovakia). A review of criteria for species determination is presented, including a new criterion concerning the morphology of P4 roots, as well as the results of a statistical survey of skull dimensions and correlation and regression analyses. The author concludes that the above mentioned bats are not sibling species, but that they belong to different subgenera of the genus Myotis.

A geo-electric and gravimetric survey in the delta of the rivers Fluvia and Muga (Gerona), Spain Naturalis
Geirnaert, W..
In the delta of the rivers Fluvia and Muga, the Quaternary is hydrogeologically the most important deposit. It is underlain by Pliocene marls and clays. From geo-electrical soundings and bore-hole data a map with depth contours of the Quaternary-Pliocene boundary plane was constructed. Near the coast the Quaternary consists of two aquifers. One of the restrictions of the resistivity method is that the second aquifer is too thin in respect to its depth. Therefore only the formation resistivities of the complete Quaternary were calculated. By comparing the map of formation resistivities with maps of the clay percentage and the water resistivities in the Quaternary, prospective areas for waterwinning can be delineated. To the north of the delta, Silurian...

A granite cliff deep in the North Atlantic ArchiMer
Pautot, Guy; Renard, Vincent; Auffret, Gérard-andré; Pastouret, Leo; De Charpal, Olivier.
WE report here preliminary results from the detailed sampling of granitic basement at a depth of 4.000 m at the lower edge of the Armorican continental margin near 48°N and 12°W. We consider that we have sampled here the extreme lateral limit of the continental crust where local exposures emerge from under a cover of Cainozoic,Mesozoic and probable Palaeozoic sediments. A MODEL OF GRAIN STORAGE AND HEDGING BY FARMERS AgEcon
Hildreth, Clifford.
The model analyzed represents circumstances as faced by a grain farmer when his harvest is known and he is making storage and hedging decisions. The scope of the analysis is limited in several respects. A one-period model is employed; only a limited number of options are recognized; and interrelations between the grain enterprise and other economic activities of the decision maker are neglected.

A MONTHLY ANALYSIS OF CONSUMER DEMAND IN THE UNITED STATES AgEcon
Sexauer, Benjamin.
This study estimates monthly consumer demand equations for fifteen major commodities based on data for 1947-1972. The equations are estimated within the framework of the Nerlove partial adjustment model. By extrapolating from retail sales data, it was possible to generate the consumer expenditure data needed to combine with published monthly series on income and prices to estimate a series of consumer demand equations.

A new genus and two new species of the crustacean order Thermosbaebacea from the West Indies Naturalis
Stock, Jan H..
Up to now, the crustacean order Thermosbaenacea contained two genera with only six valid species, five from the panmediterranean region, one from Texas. Two new members of this curious group of “living fossils” have been discovered in the West Indies. The one, from two deep wells not far from the sea coast in Saint Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands), belongs to an undescribed species of the amphiatlantic genus Monodella, and is called M. sanctaecrucis. The other was found in several localities in Curaçao (Netherlands’ Antilles), in coral débris of rubble walls on the shore; it belongs to a new genus, Halosbaena showing several remarkable adaptations, e.g. having a uniramous first pereiopod and reductions in the maxilliped. The presence of very numerous...
